  1. Okay, I pulled the 20 pin connector with the cap on it. Wasn't in too bad of shape, a little white inside and a little bit of junk in one corner but that was it, contact cleaner, brushed, fine fine sandpaper on the male prongs, a little tiny bit of dielectric grease and back together. Fired the bike up, no light, bike gets warm, glowing intermittant light is back on... Grrrrr... Did some reading and took the kickstand switch off and cleaned it just for kicks... Still got glowing light. Not seeing the flast codes when letting bike sit on side stand running and am going to jumper the service conector to see if anything stored in ECM. May go ahead and order a new sidestand switch as well to see if that does it or may just sodder those wires in the loom as read about.
  2. Thanks for the advice on resetting the ECM will do that, and check the contacts. The bike hasn't seen rain or bad weather and is parked inside all the time but still will check connectors and everything. Hopefully the rectifier isn't the problem but if all else fails I'll replace that too... may do it just for good measures.
  3. Okay, about 14K miles on the clock, was out riding today, nice weather. All of a sudden I get a very faint glow on the "S" light on my 2000 CBR XX. After a bit it goes off, then glows on again getting brighter and intermittant. If I flip on the high beams it goes out but then returns shortly thereafter. When I pull up to a stoplight it goes out, then come on again real dim, I turn a turn signal on and it gets brighter after a few seconds then blinks in unison with the turn signal. Does it sound like the rectifier/regulator? I was thinking about just replacing that for starters.
  4. Well I was told the exhaust makes it run a little richer... so maybee K&N lean it back out... Wondering if I should throw a powercommander on it... It's fast enough for what as is.... Yea, all the parts are on order some came in yesterday, be back to new shortly! Sure on riding, but I'm going slow after this getoff in the twisties... after 2 wrecks this season I'm physically creaking, elbows still hurt and now the shoulder, rib cage and neck... I enjoy riding too much to give it up but I don't enjoy going down so I gotta slow down.
  5. Fixing the bird since my get off... Should I do a K&N Air Filter or stick with the paper stock one? The bike is stock aside from Scorpion Slip on's. Waste of money? BTW, Scorpion Stainless system is awesome, loud but not too loud, nice and deep toned... It was the cheapest I could find on the web www.parts411.com at 514. The cool thing about scorpion is that they have a 1 time crash warranty replacement, you damage the system and as long as you mailed in the warranty card you can return it to them and they will send you a brand new set for 1/2 price under warranty!
