Make sure that the idle screw is not backed out to far - I know it sounds simple, but it can happen. Trust me I know. It may be a simple as that.

For sale is a set of round can Staintune Slip-ons which I took off my '01 Bird before I sold it. These cans are stainless steel and retail new for around $1100 but my understanding is that you can no longer get the round ones only the ovals (although I could be wrong).
These have about 5000 miles on them and are in excellent condition. No dents or scratches, only what you would expect from 5000 miles of use. They have removable restrictors if you like your pipes a little louder, but with them in they are only slightly louder than stock. They also have a a place to mount the center stand rubber bumper from your stock pipes. They include all mounting hardware and it takes about ten minutes to put them on once you have your other pipes off.
I am asking $700 including shipping to the lower 48 states. PM me if you are interested.
I'll take them. PM on way. Back off everyone

got an email from Staintune (1 week later) and it does appear that Staintune has stopped making round cans for all years of cbr1100xx even though the website still shows, so if anyone knows of a distributor aht might have a set of round cans with removable baffles, please let me know. Thanks

Any one have a line on Round staintune slip on's with the removabale baffle in USA?
I have found lots of oval, but I don't like the look.

yikes, I guess it is okay to stabilize, but I would not lift via the frame mount posts, not much shear force needed to snap them off.
some soft wood with a floor jack - never had any issues on the pan.

personally, I thought the factory pro spring required too much pressure.
So installed the Factory Pro detent and star but used a new honda factory spring - note this was on a 600 F2.
Made a world of differnce, no more false nuetrals, postive shifts as well.
Just throwing this out there.

Note to self: Stay out of Ocola Fl.

well said.
personally I would never run a suspect tire, for what to save a few bucks? after personal protection gear, I consider tires the most importtant, think about it, a small 4 inch square contact patch - thats it, I would want the best I could get. But save that 40 bucks... and then spend 700 on a new exhaust - dope.

I have been reading a lot about how good these tires were of late. There was an independent test(sorry no link) that showed it to be the best fo the sport touring tires in the dry and the wet with great mileage. I plan to put them on my Bird and C 14 next. Keep letting us know how these are wearing if possible.
Thanks,
Brian
It looks like the new Dunlop Roadsmart will be the one to beat in the sports/touring section. Several comparison tests have concluded it to be the best choice, beating or equalling all other competitors in all testsegments. I have mounted them on my bird to test them next spring (not riding now....).
Care to let us in on the reviews... need to replace my old worn out avons thninking either michs or dunlops. Don't get me wrong I liked the Avons, but time or a change.
redwinged.... how about a new update, thinkng Mich Pilot Road 2

Pipes
in The Garage
Very nice!!!
I like that they set higher than most other exhausts for the XX.
I like the wheels too. (They look about the same color as mine)
Excellent black & white pic!!!
wonder if they will fit with givis on the bike, really like those pipes...

Why?, we have centerstands.
For the front tire....when your washing the bike.
:?:
uh..... roll it forward a few feet? and save 50 bucks plus shipping/handling....

Would dropping the front instead of raising the rear do the same thing?
kind of, but you loose ground clearance.

the one on my 99 went at around 40 000 klms the electrition told me they usually take about 6 to 8 months or so to fully burn out till they don,t charge anymore.had the regulator rectifier cook itself around a year later.the bike started fine at home on both occasions but when i went to leave the place i,d ridden to the battery was flat and i had to push start it. but on the positive side the original battery is still good after 92000 klms .ive been told that if when you rev the bike and the headlight dosn,t get brighter thats usually a sign theres a charging problem .bike was out of warranty both times as well.
I dunno about rev the bike and the headlight doesn't get brighter is a sign of problems
Mine has done this since day one, slightly brighter aa rpm increase, voltage shows good... uhmmm ???
normal operating temp and mpg?
