  1. not sure if it was lucky...but I don't think honda ever made something like it.
  2. Looks to me like one of daves lowering brackets. Hobi sells them at cyclefarkle.com.
  3. God I wish I could wrench!!!!! I think I have most of the stock clutch parts that came with the bike...I'll check today. Would rather just run the stocker and be pleased with that.
  4. Thanks, I figured that if anyone would know they would be here.
  5. need help to identify what the cable is actually from so I can replace it, it is way stretched. sorry for the dirty pics looks like time to do some cleaning around here.

  7. I really appreciate the offer, not sure if I'll make it that far but who knows. Thanks for the support!!!
  8. You are so right. Gonna take your advice and will let you know what happens. Thanks for the feedback!!
  9. I agree, anyone with a recommendation for Ventura County CA please send it my way. It just makes me sick to spend the money and not trust the work that was done. I agree this marvel of engineering should be treated as a fine time piece. When the fairings were removed the insulation was also removed. That had to be a tough day with the HD boys. I just don't have the tools, space or confidence to wrench on the bird myself. Situations like these make me wonder if I could not do just as good a job with some training. I think this guy has no idea what he is doing. From what I have followed on the board it scares me to think that 6 of 8 were in need of adjustment with so few miles on the bike.
  10. thanks very much..I really appreciate the help.
  11. OK here goes, took the bike into a local small shop said it would be 275 to adjust the valves and synched the carbs. I have had the bike a few years the engine sounded like it was ready with near 17k on it not sure if it was ever done. Left the bike last Friday to be ready Monday afternoon. Called he said it was not ready but would be on Tuesday by 10:00 Call him mid day says the bike will be ready before he closes @ 4:00. Go to get the bike near closing. Start the bike and it sounds much better. Get on it to ride home wont rev over 5k dies before I'm out of the lot. He does a quick check to make sure the gas for the tank is turned on runs the battery to start it for a minute or two with no luck. Then says he will need to keep it till today. This afternoon he calls and says it is ready. I go to pick it up and the heat insulation is sticking out of the fairing, I say fix it so he does then he check the other side and it is obviously installed incorrectly. Fixes that as well. Ride the bike home with a short spin on the way and it sounds much better. Go for a quick start and battery is dead. So I'll be going to batteriesPlus tonight to replace it. Need to know Does the insulation go foam facing out or in when fairings are installed. I know this is stupid but he has it foam in and I don't think that is correct and I'm too pissed to see straight right now. Somebody please help me. BTW 6 of the 8 intake valves needed to be shimmed according to this guy. Maybe it was near time for a new battery anyway but this guy will NEVER touch my bike again!!!
  12. Yep ran it till it heated up. Just burped the system. The old coolant only had a couple thousand miles on it. Thanks for the feedback. Now I'll take it out for a spin and enjoy.
  13. thanks, I did use a trans funnel, and the side stand, just did not understand why it would spit out coolant before I added any. Not sure what you meant by dead giveaway, but please clue me in if you get a chance.
  14. Bike has been running hotter than normal without any changes to note. The process seemed to be going OK till I hit a fairing bolt that had the head stripped, got past that and followed the process as described on the board. When I ran the bike at idle up to heat the coolant ended up blowing out of the radiator for a while, not just air, but liquid as well. Is this a tell tale sign?? If so please clue me in. Garage floor was covered. Cleaned it up put the bike back together and seems to be running smoother and cooler. Not a big accomplishment, but no extra parts and the bike still starts and seems better than before. Any feedback appreciated.
  15. guy's getting no action, he might really need a buyer. maybe someone is interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...3DLVI%26ps%3D54

  18. Thanks vey much. I will do this tonight and let you know what I find.
  19. nope I did have the hyperpro springs installed a year or so back, only way I found out was having a shop look at and adjust rear sag, all went well there, then they lifted the front to check sag and it made an air sucking type noise I notice that when I ride over bumps as well. didn't know if this is normal or maybe an issue that is in need of attention.
  20. sounds kinda like an air leak when the decompress, there is no oil leak of any kind, is this normal?
  21. Glad you're OK..haven't seen much from you lately....howz the new ride treating U??
