  1. pICKED IT UP AT A SWAP MEET.. i GAVE THEM MY xx AND THEY GAVE ME A CUP OF COPFEE AND THAT THING... ps.. i STILL NEED TO GET SOME PICS OF THE NEW TRAILER UP...
  2. I am thinking about the "E" track Looks like a good set-up for a chock and tie-down. PLus It removes and repositions very easily.. http://i15.ebayimg.com/02/i/03/30/c4/02_12_b.JPG
  3. I am looking for a front wheel chock sutable for the bird.. Obviously I don't want to have to remove the front fender every time I load the bike.. I saw one today.. had a flat permanently mount base aND A removable top.. $80.00 waS a bit steep though.. Any advice?
  4. I have a folding aluminum ramp I use to get the birs in to a full-size truck... Is is a 6 foot.. and is still a bit of a steep push to get the bird up into the bed.. I would suggest a longer folding Alum ramp.. paid about $160 for mine... Check your local lawnmover dealer or landscape joint.. As for cleaning.. I use just let mine oxidize.. you can use metal polish if you want .. then sure.. go ahaead and clear coat them.. couldn't hurt...
  5. Agreed, they really are for compression loads only. So long as the load is not greatly overhung and usage is only occasional, they should be fine. My rear stand is the kind with arms that go under the swing arm, not quite as secure as spools but it has not let me, or more importantly, the bike down yet. Point well raised, but being that Pit Bull markets the things for this use, I'd assume they're safe enough for the application. What brand did you use for the spooless lifts... ???
  6. I am looking for a 100w high beam... I have an HID low beam so I hope the difference in wattage will be minimal... Anyone got one lying around?? I am also running a pair of 100w fogs... I use my voltmeter to make sure I keep the rpm's up while the fogs are on... Heaven forbid I sit in traffic with my fogs and high beam on once I switch out to a 100w H7...
  7. I put on a set of Hella optilux fogs ... Worked great for 3+month.. Then they dies.. Removed the relay and tested.. They worked.. Sent out for another relay.. INstalled the new relay and NO DICE... Can I just go to Radio Shit and pick up a relay that will switch 100w bulbs.. ??I guess I would have to cut the factory harness and wire up the new RS relay,, right? Do I have to worry about voltage and amp draw differences?
  8. Go to walmart.. They have the arrow style led blinkers with adhesive on the back already.. I did this on my bird and noticed that the flashers interfered with my rear viewing so I pulled them off and returned them to walmart for my $10 back... But I'm glad it worked for someone...
  9. +7 on Bob from Plasticweld.. Empiregp...... Bob is a fairing wizard.. I never had him work on my tank .. But he has done 3 fairings for me...A+
  10. I have hard wired most of my farkles staright to the battery.. I like being able to turn on my gps when the key os off.. Ialso have my escort(radar) harwired to check the battery voltage when the bike ie off.. A radio shack unit will work fine as long as you don't over tax your Stator while running,,, Good luck
  11. What is this "Ride On " you speak of.. sealaent from the inside.. or a plug type...??
  12. Not if you suggest that they are tooo bright.. Thanks though
  13. I am thinking about doing the bulb upgrade aswell.. Pete.. Do you still have yout 168's?
  14. Just placed my first orer with them.. I made a two dollar donation to the forum... How exactly does that work.. Who gets that money? I looks like I could have kept upping the donation ammount without changing the toal .. They kept making the donation ammount equal to the discount ammount.. Hope it worked..
  15. Be sure you have someone who knows what they are doing put that kit in for you.. You can do a search for jet kit.. and read my trials. Make sure the guys sets the needles at the right height... I have a 97 jetted piped filtered and one tooth down..set up for low end torque.. Loads of fun, but watch your Gas mpg....Great communter, for slab I will throw the 17 back in ... Good luck.. Tavis, try keeping that front end down...
  16. I just did the 16t this weekend.. You have to be ready to feel the bike screaming under you.. The highway trip rides up at 5k+.. You definately feel the engine braking under cornering.. I rool around the city in 6th now, just because I can snap the throttle and she goes. without down shifting... I'll try it for a while.. The install in easy enough .. I can always throw my 17t back in for a distance run.. ps The bike DOES NOT become a pogo stick.. so don't let that rumor scare you.. You can easily bring the front wheel up but nothing to fear a backflip... Does this mod effect your Odometer?
  17. Trying to keep my head from spinning.. I am doing the new chain thing.. and the one down front sprocket seems like an intriguing idea.. can the vfr 16t front be put on with a stock rear sprocket? I understand that the wheel base will change.. Anything we can do to manually adjust the speedo.. without a $100 dollar box..? some kind of dial we can turn down?
  18. Problem:Dead Battery Possible solutions?? Solution: Jump from another bike with both (+) and (-) leads connected Jump from a battery tender plugged into the wall. Jump from a car battery with only (+) connected.. Can someone chime in with the proper procedure.?
  19. Mr. Peeps Buy the HId and put the Modulator on the high beam, this way you can flip it on when you need it, PLUS once you bridge the sunlight sensor, You can pop it on at night to " alert drivers of your near approach" I am thinking of the Mod for my Hi-beam, already got the HID low.. ps .. HI_JACk
  20. Your Garmal joint has blown a king gasket spring retainer. You are gonna need to purchase the reload tension adjuster... Make sure your get the one rated for 1.618 microneters, or else you will end up stripping the deltronic volt surgecapacitor relay assembly. Once the bike it running, start rolling it down a hill and throw it in reverse, this re-engages the drive teeth associated with the battery overload switch.. Turn the bike off, and lay it on it's side, (put down a tissue first so you don't scratch your paint) Start and turn off the bike three times to reset the fresnortion jasberset....... And you Are Done... I had the same problem a week back... Good luck Joe
  21. Artic: That would work if I had theose lights... They look great!!, But I need a horizontal mount not a vertical one.. It looks like I will be using the lower front fender screw... I'll loose the bracket that came with the lights, and go directly into the mounting screws.. Pics to come..
  22. Cruizing through options on lighting..seen most of the standards, BUT Looking for a pic of the fogs under the nose.. Is there enough material there to keep the beam steady? Thought about using the reflector tabs, but my lights need to be mounted horizontally. Any horizontal suggestions..? ps pics would help.
  23. Joe Help me out.. What is the total output of our alternators? I have a 97" I heard the Fi birds are diff" So. it takes about 175 watts to runn the bike... If I am dropping 2 (115) watts bulbs in thats... 230... plus the 175 it takes to runn the bike 175 +230 ---------- 405 total watts with just the bike and the "high powered(2x115w) fogs" Add gps and a radar and we bump that up even more... Subtract for HID though right?, they take an initial spike of juice , BUT settle down and draw less current once they are on .. Correct?
  24. So, As long as one is cruising on the highway, with rpm's up. one should have no problem with excessive farkles disturbing the wattage flow? I know at some point i'll hit the limit.. I replaced my reg/rec last season.. so that is in good order..Gps. Ipod. Soon fogs. Would bumping the bulbs from a set of fog lights up to 100 -115 w make a huge difference in the draw? compard to the 55w stockers?
