  1. I've just finished a BT010, it's been cupped so bad, in hindsight, I should have tossed that sucker long ago, it seriously but some fear into my last trip into the mountains.
  2. It happened to me too. I overfilled my coolant container on a cool day( It's only supposed to be approx 2/3 full. A week later when the temps got high, and I got stuck in traffic, I had a nasty coolant leak under my bike at the stoplight. I nearly cancelled my vacation because of this. Make sure you didn't overfill the reservoir, then take the bike for a ride and watch the temp gauge. If it doesn't go into red, you're OK. Let the bike cool, and check the levels again.
  3. I've got a BT010 on the front of my Bird as well. It's cupping as well ( I do alot of 2-up riding.) It there a danger in having a cupped tire? I haven't noticed anything weird yet.
  4. Might as well buck up. They give better perfromance and last longer anyways. Just don't let the dealer screw you on the price, it's often cheaper on line. Club plug worked out fine for me last year.
  5. ie: throw a shitload of money at it.
  6. they are. good to have around though
  7. Excellent, screw the valve adjustment, now the only question is Penske or Ohlin? ( I know there's a thread on this elsewhere, I'll look it up )
  8. timely thread. My bird is sitting at 32,000 km ( 20,000 mi ). I was planning on having the valves checked, but now I'm wondering if it's worth it. I'd really rather spend the money on a Penske. Is there any way other than taking engine apart to check them? ie how can you tell when they need adjustment?
  9. You might want to keep an eye on some of the VFR boards, I got mine from a Viffer rider who put heli bars on his VFR, only cost me 75.00 ($cdn)
  10. I got mine via Melissa as well. She was great, they even got shipped with an invoice marked "warrenty repair" so I didn't get nailed with customs/GST. The lines are a noticable improvement over stock.
  11. I've heard alot of good about them lately, especially their latest model. Who's the Can. distributer, and whats the price?
  12. I'm interested,, and yes , I am cheap.
  13. I think I went +1" on the lines..... fits perfectly. BTW Cyclebrakes was great to deal with.
  14. I love Newenough. Most of the products have reviews by their own staff, most are by the owners of Newenough. Holly helped me screw the Gov't outta sales tax by shipping to a friend in Montana. The size she recommended fit perfect. The price was very good..... check out their clearence items.
  15. In Canada, Akra's XX system is the most "reasonable" priced system they sell. Check it out, it ain't too crazy.
  16. when I ordered my Corbin saddle, I specified I wanted it 1/2 in higher than stock. voila, it worked. My knees are buggered, but I can do a 10 hr day on the bird without any problems.
  17. I too have a Fieldsheer Mest Jacket ( ti Air ). Love the jacket. There have been problems with Fieldsheer's warrenty service dept. Several customers were having problem with the Zippers on their Highland pants, the warrenty service was lacking. Personally, If I wanted some of their product, I'd go through either Motorliberty.com or Newenough.com. Both sell Fieldsheer at the same or lower prices (I saved 5%). and both have a strong reputation for customer service.
  18. Philips vision plus, they were rated something like 35% brighter than stock, and they don't draw any extra power, should actually burn cooler. I got them from www.autolampsonline.com or something like that (British company). The service was exceptional.
  19. When I checked with them they told me to use a cr9ehi-9 ( note no "x" in the code). I checked with customer service at NKG, this plug is an Iridium/Platinum hybred, but is OK to use. All these damn numbers, no wonder I'm confused.
  20. Thanks I too am curious about the differences betw. the cheaper iridiums vs the $18.00 dollar ones. BTW the ones my Honda shop were quoting were the NKG brand.
  21. I just got told $18.00 by my local dealer for Iridium plugs for my XX. (Actually he said 28.00 ea, Canadian). Where can I get them online?
  22. Does the XX REQUIRE Iridium plugs, or are they the preferred type? Is that the Part# for the Honda plug, or is that another supplier? Just checked, I've got 19,000 km on the odometer, and origional plugs. I smell gas when at idle, and mileage is down. I guess its time to change them.
  23. RE Centre stand. I thought I saw a thread where a member machined a piece to allow him to keep the centre stand. Any ideas? Why are Akro systems cheaper for the XX than for any other bike? I got quoted a price of over 40% less than if I put the same system on a 929. :?:
