  1. Thanks I would like to do the slip ons because I want to keep the center stand. easier maint , rear tire change, chain lube etc. I have found 2 bros, and akr. that say they work just curious. Plus I don't care about being loud I like the stealth seems like more & more people are complaining about loud pipes and I don't want to give the LEO's any more reason to pull me over than I already do.
  2. I know there are many opinions, but which is the best aftermarket exhaust system for the 03 XX as far as gained HP and not so loud the harleys feel bad.
  3. I have a used one I'd make you a good deal on. It was on the bike less than a year and is still in good condition.
  4. What color, you can use 1500 wet sand paper with lots of water also use a sanding block. if not real deep you can use maguires #2 and then progress up. you will still have to use these if you use the sand paper also if real deep use a 1000 or 1200 grit. can you feel it with your finger nail? you may have to use 400 go lightly though cause paint will come off also depends on if it through the clear coat or not
  5. Thanks I was just looking at the CBR motor on Ebay but since it suckecd a valve and I am not close enough to view it I am leary but was curious if the motor had the work he states if I could use the bottom end with my 03 head Thanks for the imput
  6. Hi I am curious if an 03 head will work on a 98 motor? or if I could put the FI system on the 98 motor
  7. Thanks John, I sent $$ and thanks for the info. I ahve been working and was away from computer.
  8. Cagers wouldn't see you if you had Aircraft landing lights on there to busy on the cell phone or listening to talk radio LOL
  9. Thanks to all and thanks John I am looking for slightly smoke tint with amber bulb for front
  10. I have been searching for after market parts for the Bird. I have a headache from looking at BS. I know I have seen after market smoked turn lenses for the bird 03 model anyone know any good resources I checked the information page on forum and some of these are bad and the others lack info. want to put some farkles on her but since it is a dying beast of honda seems parts and aftermarkets are getting harder to find. Thanks
  11. I use the Ventura system on & off in less than 5 min. comes with sport rack and large frame for bags
  12. The bird GL 1800, ST 1300 same filter go to Honda direct and buy 1/2 dozen to keep on the shelf
  13. Thanks to all. I have it all done now the front springs, galfer SS lines, and wilbers rear. Took it for a spin just have to fine tune it but can tell the difference
  14. Thanks P, I know i have to match everything together thats why I am a little paranoid. I will have it back together today with new stainless brakelines, clutch. and the front and rear shock ,spring change. Then I just have to dial it in alittle at a time. Just trying to get it setup so I can keep up at the TBME Thanks again
  15. I am in the process of doing these with the front spring change. I just removed the block between the two front brakes and direct lined em both. I think that is right. The clutch will be harder to remove the old line rather than put the new one in.
  16. Thanks Red, Thats what I needed for part of my questions. just gotta figure out if I should cut down the spacer or use it as preload? The new spring is about 3/8-1/2 longer than the old one, the cap screws on easy, but I can feel it preloading the spring alittle. Anyone the tapered end down or up on the Wilbers front springs since I measured the winding between the spring wraps and they are the same distance and I don't read german. :icon_wall:
  17. Hey working on the bird doing the wilbers front spring conversion. Can someone give me the link that was posted here awhile back been searching but can't find it. Or answer a question Instructions from Klaus in german, generic not bird specific. says 300mm air gap? also says tapered side up Stock was tapered down? I need help bike is apart and don't want to screw it up. Thanks
  18. So I had a day off and it was raining so I decided to put my new rear shock on. I put it in place but the lower shock bushing wouldn't fit the stock bolt no big deal so I took it back out and went to the drill press and sized it one size up. No big deal. When I got the shock back in the low/high speed line rubbed on the battery box. So like a dumb ass I loosened the bolt to move it a little. Well I lost a little shock fluid I'm guessing less than a teaspoon, Will this make a difference and if so how do I put more fluid in the shock with out having to send it back to Wilbers? :icon_wall:
  19. Thanks for the Info I have been leaning toward the galfer setup. I noticed that tehy are posted on the Ebay list as well for the CBR XX parts. is the forum discount more than they have listed on the Ebay page? I also like the fact that Galfer has colored outside to jaz it up alittle kinda of like the gold.
  20. Hi I have looking at replacing the OEM lines with SS and there are a few manufactures out there. Does it matter which one you choose or does one companies fit better on the bird. Looking at either gaffer or Spiegler, Is there one better? thanks

    rear shock

Man now I'm paranoid I have a Wilbers setup with the preload and low speed adjustment in the Garage haven't had a chance to put it on yet. Should I sell it or take my chances? I've read 3 posts now in here about Wilbers problems. Where were these posts a month ago when I was trying to decide DOOH. Doesn't Klaus locktight or thread tape the fittings? Guess I'll have to take my chances and X my fingers
  22. This is an interesting topic, since I am about to change my springs and rear shock setup to the Wilbers. I have debated on the 2.5W or 5W. Wilbers recommends the 2.5W W 150 air gap. I weigh 175 around 185 with gear. I was think of the 5W and after reading the responses here probably will start with that. Interested in Flipper lean angle and road conditions why the front washes out. Also the relationship of rear setup Vs the front and did he raise the forks in the triple clamp to bring the front lower Vs the rear.?
