  1. Thanks for the welcome and the replies you have all given, firstly the guy i bought it from doesnt know why the ecu needed replaceing, he was told it did from the honda dealer, this frightened him so he bought a new bike instead. I just got on ebay and got myself a new one, well second hand one. The plugs must be sparking as it does fire when i short out the loom where the fuel relay goes, but runs for a second then stops and wont fire again unless i short the loom again. I do have a service manual on disc and have read through some of it, which is where i got the idea of shorting the relay loom out, and as this gets the engine o fire i seem to think the problems lies around there some where I did notive a breather pipe which both ends are free, this cant be right and am unable to see a pic of it anywhere, it is under the tank with all the others and is hooked onto a bracket on the engine caseing, so any ideas on this one, I cant see anywhere obvious to fit at least one end, but it must go somewhere shouldnt it? Now the weather is getting a bit warmer i would like to fix this myself rather than take it in and be charged a fortune. Thanks agin guys, sorry if ive woffled on. Mark
  2. Being brave i bought a blackbird which i was told needed a new ECU, This i bought along with the key and HISS surround, now i still have a Blackbird which wont fire, I have checked the voltage on the fuel relay and thats ok, the fuel pump makes NO noise when ignition is on, but if i take out the relay and short the loom where it goes i get the pump to work, then the engine will fire and as quickly stop again. Anything i may of missed? or has anyone come up with this problem Oh I have done the loom fix on the block by the battery before i put the replacement ecu on. The obvious thing is to change the relay i hear you say, but the voltage is correct when connected to battery and it clicks so its obviously swithing??? Whilst here id like to say, i have found alot of info on here very useful so i have now joined in the hope i can share my experiences with my blackbird, but first i need to get the bloody thing to run. Any help much appriciated and needed. Mark
