  1. You can bin that shim now since you have ride height adjustment on your new shock.
  2. Mine turned out to have 138 hp and 80 ft-lbs torque. The numbers posted in the graphs above must be for a highly modified bike or a totally inaccurate dyno.
  3. I may end up using Table 12 too. I'm still playing around with mine to find the ideal setting. I started out with engine oil, but now I'm using Mobil 1 gear oil. What are you guy using?
  4. I'm running Table 11 right now on setting 3. That works out to one pulse every 3172 wheel revolutions. I've been running leaner and leaner settings to minimize fling off and keep the chain oiled. My Pro-Oiler is one of the earlier units so our tables may be slightly different. My system uses the reed switch with a magnet.
  5. My Pro-Oiler is one of the earlier units. Here's where I put it. Under the seat. The bottle fits perfectly under the bar. It holds plenty when mounted that way and it's easy to fill. Controller on the dash. BTW. The Pro-Oiler is not made by Scott.
  6. I have a GEZA. It's nice, but a little expensive.
  7. The front end, wheel and brake parts from a '99 up will work. The rear wheels and brakes are all the same.

    Muffler repack

Yeah, I was a little worried about the CF. It was worth it just to check the packing.

    Muffler repack

I re-packed my Two Bros. CF cans today. I bought the kit from Two Bros. and it was a piece of cake as Staish mentioned earlier. The old packing was mostly still there, but I didn't know that until I had them apart. The cans aren't much quieter now, but they do sound a little deeper.
  10. I had a leak at the valve cover gasket a few years ago. Oil was going everywhere and it was very difficult to find the leak. The new valve cover gasket fixed the problem.

    Pipes

I have Two Bros. CF cans and they are getting a little loud though. I get compliments on the sound, but I may repack them this winter. I'd like to just buy my own packing material. Has anyone bought the Two Bros. kit or done it themselves? If so, what are the dimensions of the packing blanket?
  12. I've had an 8981 on my XX for a few years. I think it's the single best mod. I've done to the bike. As noted above, you won't need the High/low adjustments unless you are an expert. You can add them later if you decide you want them. I'm also running fork springs from Jaws that are about 100mm longer than stock.
  13. None of the tires I've used lately have had an alignment mark. I just mount them, rotate them to get the minimum imbalance and add whatever weights are required.
  14. Thanks for posting the map twolfe. I can't get it to open though with the PowerCommander software. Did I do something wrong or is there a trick to get it working?
  15. I have a stock '02 shield on my '00 XX for everyday use. It's a little taller with a little bubble. For long road trips, I add a Laminar Lip. Works great.
  16. Any particular reason you took the fairings off? That's not necessary just to change the oil and filter.

    Brake pads

Take the metal anti-rattle shims off of the back side of the pads. Some new replacement pads are too thick with the shims installed.
  18. I've been using the 45/46's for a while now. They've handled and stuck very well for the most part. In fact, I've been very happy with all of them until recently. I had a problem with a 45 (Avon scare) a few weeks ago. I usually get about 5k miles from a rear and about twice that from a front. I've also been riding a little harder lately and the Avons have slid on me a few times. I don't mind spinning/sliding the rear once in a while, but sliding the front end makes me uncomfortable. I think I'm going to try Pilot Powers for the next set. I'm hoping for improved grip and no handling degradation.
  19. I've been getting about 5000 miles out of a rear Avon and about twice that from a front. I've been thinking about Pilot Powers for the next set for a little added grip.
  20. I couldn't agree more. Mike is a great guy to deal with. Even though I had trouble with the Carrozzerias, I would not hesitate to do business with Mike again.
  21. Thanks for posting the map Jeff. How did your bike run before and after?
  22. I didn't see that one. Jason, do you have it?
  23. Would you guys with custom maps for dual slip-ons like to shar your maps with the group?
  24. I suggest you use powdered graphite sparingly. I used too much when my lock set was sticking and actually made it worse. I ended up using spray gun lube (Rem-Lube) to free things up and haven't had a problem since.
