  1. I dont post many topics here, but really like to read them. However, I finally have an issues of my own Due to my schedule (going to school and flying), I unfortunately have VERY little time to ride my bike. Due to space limitations, I have to keep it in a storage space quite a distance from my home. Anyhoo, I go up to my storage and try and turn her over. No joy, battery is COMPLETELY dead (awhile since I have started it  ). Anyhoo, I hooked it up to jump start it. I followed the advice of one of the members in their post here and kept my car off. Well, the starter was turning over like a champ, but it was almost like there was no spark?? I tried it for a few times and believed I smelled some gas (possibly flooded?). I will say however, that it was VERY cold that day, as it has been for quite awhile. Will the cold be very detrimental in the starting of my bike? Do you think I should just hook the batterey up to the charger and try again later? I really dont know what else to do, since I am NOT a bike nut by any means Thanks for any and all of everyones advice. It is GREATLY appreciated! PS: I have a 2001. Steve
  2. Ahhhhh......How I love Fuel Injection   Steve
  3. Joe, to be honest with you, it was an inheritance (I am only 24). So, I did not buy the bike. I would like to ride more, but time does not permit at this time since I go to school. Its not like I neglect it though, nothing could be farther from the truth. Heated garage, stays covered, started frequently and the like. I treat my bike like a queen  Thats why if you see my posts/questions, they appear to be elementary. I am learning as MUCH as I can about it. When I ride though, I RIDE. I love this bike, and I don't ever plan on selling it! Steve
  4. How long is the factory warranty good for? I have a 01. Would an extended warranty be a good idea for someone who rides very little? Just to be on the safe side? Since I go to school, I have only put 1,100 miles on it, spends most of its time parked  Thanks for any help! Steve
  5.   WOW, that was very informative Joe. I think I knocked out about half of my requirements for my chemical engineering classes  If you dont mind me asking, are you a mechanic, or do you just REALLY like to keep up on these types of things? In all seriousness though, I really appreciate the information, and will thus not worry about having the oil changed any time "soon" Thanks, Steve
  6.  OHH Shit, that is good! Steve
  7. Ok guys, got an o1 with 1150 miles on it. I had the initial service about 7 months ago, since then I have put a bit over 500 miles on it. Since I am one of the few that is not to terribly farmiliar with my bike and cant ride to often, what is your guys's advice on oil change schedules? Should I change it about every 3 or 6 months regardless?? Thanks for any advice you have. Steve
  8. Hookers, Hookers, Hookers.... Take the bike out and tell the old lady to clean the fucking house!! Just joking, my new girlfriend really liked it when I took her out on the bike. Didnt go to fast, just cruised the town. THEN, I took her back and gave her the goods.... Steve
  9. Thank you very much for your detailed response TOXXIC! Very informative. Again, excuse my ignorance to certain things relating to riding, but what is a "squid"? I mean, thats what i was called when i first joined the Navy. It referenced the "new" guy. Is a "squid" like a new rider? Thats good, problems with the clutch
  10. In all seriousness, if you were to pull a dude over for going....oh....say 175 (if you caught him of course), what would you HONESTLY do to them? Can you take their bike away for driving at such high speeds? What on earth would the fine be for something like that? Just currious...Thanks for your help. P.S. Anyone here been pulled over for excessively high speeds (like 130 and above?)-If you dont mind me asking of course
