  1. buddy of mine is giving me his old 86' ninja zx6  He's into harleys now and building one bad ass bike.. I need to stop by there and pick it up, said the motor was missing when he last had her running couple yrs ago.. might have to get a new motor
  2. holly shit  my lever isn't out all the way (short stubby fingers) but if I need more than 2 fingers to stop something is wrong.. I don't even think I can pull my lever all the way back far enough to pinch my hand or finger between it and the grips.. look at your lines sitting still and see how bad they swell when you squeeze the lever.. might be trapped air somewhere or your due for some new stuff..
  3. how many miles on the bike? Could be from the brake lines giving alittle.. Could possibly be the pads if your sure all the air is out of the system.. Maybe they are just used up and don't offer as much grip I know my shit gets super spongy feeling when in the mountains.. If I feel *good* and actually in tuned I will ride alittle harder and use more braking, I also do the sit up to catch air to assist in slowing and alot of engine breaking to keep from using my brakes so much..
  4. still running stock brake lines?
  5. I repacked my D&D on my last bike.. think the packing was $8 for one muffler. Drill out the rivits on the end cap.. pull off endcap and baffle with old packing on it.. remove all packing. Roll baffle back up with packing not too toght or too loose and shove back in the pipe. Get a few rivits and a rivit gun and your down... take 15 to 20 minutes to do one taking your time
  6. Pictures will help but its really simple.. I did it yesterday evening after work and halfway suffereing from a migraine  going to do a test ride today and see how she handles...
  7. how much adjusting do you have to do to your chain Demon? raising and lowering it that much must effect the chain a great deal...
  8. I am 5'8 1/2 and after adding them I am on my toes.. I added 5.3 mm to my rear shock and don't think I want to go anymore after sitting on it.. we will see when I test ride it though.
  9. I have broken a couple on the bottom.. I was planning on just getting alittle nut and bolt to take their place... just don't superman tighten it and breck the plastics
  10. ok... I found 3 washers at work.. Broke out the digital micrometer and they add up to 5.3 mm  good enough for government work.. If it improves it enough to where I like it I will go back and get my wifes uncle to machine me one  So like Demon said, got washers cut a slot into them to make them "U" shaped popped of the gas tank, loosened the shock nut and slid them in.. Tighten the nut back down and adjusted the chain slack.. No rubbing and haven't done a test ride yet... did I miss anything  its been a long day, and I went ahead and tackled this since I didn't feel like finishing up cutting my grass
  11. Thanks for the heads up on the chain.. I probably would have forgotten about that  $129 bucks.... shit Santa might get screwed this yr on that toy.. I might pick it up before Xmas..
  12. cool deal... I am riding to work tomorrow.. will just pop off the seat and fill my pockets with some washers... That adjustable link is plain sick  Wonder if Santa could fit one of those into my stocking this yr
  13. Cool deal will have to borrow some washers from the bolt bin at work anyone happen to know the size of the shock shaft ?
  14. what did you use for a spacer? Can I just throw in a couple washers that equal to 6mm or have to buy something special :?:
  15. currently running avons and got Oxford softbags
  16. I am so glad I am not the only person that does this...
  17. I don't have scratches and stuff on my exhaust, Just looking for something good keep up the shine on my pipes  will have to see what works on the midpipes, making my bike look dirty
  18. will try that on the midpipes... surely wont do that to my Leo Vince pipes
  19. I got Mothers, some stuff called Purple, tried the little cans of cotton wading. I need to polish up my exhaust and wanting to try something else. Also would would be good to get the burnt rubber off my mid pipes from my riding boots  That is baked on good
  20. They make a fake annodized looking paint.. actually looks pretty good. I might see about finding some black and do them.
  21. The bird is gentle till she reaches 7k RPM's After that she will open a can of whoop ass on you so fast you think Wiley Coyote just lit a ACME rocket under your ass
  22. Just make sure you completly wash them off to remove any chemicals Demon you going to polish them so taking off the gold is a must.. would you have to do the same in order to paint them? Or maybe a slight scuffing with some 1000 grit sandpaper to make the paint stick?
  23. Wow  how do you do them burnouts... Your bike is smoking so much it looks like its on fire I have only done a couple burns on my bike, I don't care to clean the rubber from under my bike
  24. I might wanna try it also... I already covered up my engine with carbon fiber engine armor
  25. idle adjustment, if you really want too put you a dab of RTV silicon on the backside of the screw and pull the black adjusting knob back over top of the screw head.. Will prevent it from happening again, and if for some reason ( highly doubt it, you got a Honda) you need to remove or whatever you still can.
