  1. PB Blaster let it soak in real good and twist and pull, if that don't work maybe try a rubber mallet and give it alittle extra help.
  2. I forgot about the manual being there
  3. When I do all brake jobs, I run a peice of clear tubing from the bleed valve into a coke bottle or something. This helps to keep any mess to a minimum, and less chance of getting some on my paint. Rockme.. I am still suffering from Santa forgetting it
  4. Never had a bike with a hydro clutch. My bike is only miles away from me doing the 12,000 mile service. So just how do you go about doing it? Santa didn't bring me a shop manual like I had hoped. Last time at my bike shop they didn't have any for the XX, So I will need to order one. I don't have a mighty vac if you could use them on this, so will have to do it the old fasion way
  5. buddy just bought him a buell to
  6. Damn, nice generators  I plan on doing some riding this weekend. Seems we are having a heat wave, and going to be around mid 60's to 70's I really do need one, lost power for 3 days when hurricane Isabelle hit.
  7. How big are the bottles, and what size is your cars tank? I might get a few and dump them in my truck 99' with almost 100k and my wifes car 97' 155k
  8. I was thinking about not doing the bathroom, but now I might go ahead and do it, and use diamon plate in there as well, for like the floor trim, and backsplash around the sink, or hell make the counter tops out of diamond plate  Diamond plate shitter seat might be alittle to cold and rough on my tender tushy though
  9. You my friend are fucking genious  Don't care what all the others say about you on the board  I don't know about the diamond plate ceiling, but I see some in my future for the walls where workbenches will go
  10. Hope they never do slip on you... Blackbird is one heavy bitch....when you have to push it
  11. My story had nothing to do with oil, just oil samples can't predict all future problems.. on the 980 Cat the cannecting rod went snap, crackle and pop  Why? who knows.. I know it had oil, as it takes like 25 gallons
  12. Dropped front end 1/4 of a inch, and shimmed the rear shock 5.3mm. cost = $0.00
  13. buddy at work swears by that stuff. I have yet to try it. I also rode a couple hundred miles yesterday  was 70 degrees
  14. The Shell Rotella 5w-40 is in a blue jug isn't it? I was thinking about trying that at my 12k miles service. Oh yeah we send samples off at work.. Trust me.. the sample will show wear, dirt, and all other crap in PPM. Good info.. Wasn't to handy when we had a Caterpiller 980 loader loose a motor.. $50,000 motor went *knock, knock* *BOOM* even after the sample showed everything to be doing great about 30 hrs prior. They are good for what has happened, and let you know of some wear, but can't predict how long a engine will last.. My truck is every 5k nothing but a 18 mile backroads communte Bike every 2.5K nothing but raping her ass from the word say GO
  15. I think the LED's I was looking at were 20mA's.. Its been a while since I did electronics in High School.. I am slowly refreshing my memory  I might try my hand at this and make some custom turn signals for the blackbird, or whatever I feel would be neat to make.. I love building stuff so I will have fun.. I am sure I will be back with some questions.. I just need to get me some supplies.. strip board, led's resistors, ect, ect,.. Thanks again
  16. Is there a electrician in the house? I was looking at some single LED's, at Radio Shack, these were alot bigger than most I have seen. Some where 10mm, where more common ones are 5mm. I was thinking about making some little stuff using LED's but was curious on what you need. I know you can't wire them straight to a bike battery, so how do you know what resistors and what not you need? You get with different LED's telling you that the typical voltage might be 1.8 volts, and a max of 2.2 volts, and what about all the mA? Milla amps vary also.. How would you hook up say, 4 or 5 in a row? or in a cluster?
  17. I don't see where my bird needs ones, besides that looks like ass sitting off on the left hand side like in that pic. :???: to each is own I guess, some people like the looks of ass and then some people like taking it in the ass
  18. my father in law designed the basement setup when he built the house. He didn't want any support poles in the middle of the basement, so he ran 8 or 10 inch (forget which) "I" beams across. I was hopeing to split the basement 2/3 play area, for my bathroom, pool table, tv and crap. and leave 1/3 for my work area, this would leave me a "I" beam to use on the shop side to help string up projects. checkerboard tile the bike work area, bathroom and also around the woodstove, and have the rest of the area carpeted. I just figured doing the ceiling in a white drop in tile would look super sweet  Would help hide all the duct work, and plumbing lines.
  19. Plan on doing some wrenching for myself and others. So was looking for alot more light. I can easily get them 4' long flourecent fixtures that hang for about $20 a peice. I currently only have 5 and only half the basement is lit up. Might see about getting some of the mini halogens for my pool table though. Bet they would do a great job with 3 or so of them hanging over it. Thanks for the ideas..
  20. how mini are the mini's? Brother in law has some in his shop, and they will bar-b-q your ass in the summertime.. I am going to get a 5 gallon bucket of kilz and redo the walls this weekend. To make sure they are sealed. Will take a note pad to write down some prices on materials. Won't be able to do anything else till next week when I get paid. Paid bills last night and I am almost depressed after $2500
  21. All the wires, waterlines, and duct work is already done. I might add a few more flourecent lights down there. (Currently got 5, would like to have 12) I was looking at going with the 2x4 tiles since they are cheap and easy to replace. Only problem with the sheetrock is like you mentioned access. All the duct work, and plumbing for the house is running under there. Would look the best but still be the biggest headache if I ever had to get in there. I will probably wait and do the ceiling last as it apprears to be the biggest expence. Going to get some good measurements tonight and draw up some plans for the bathroom and whatnot..
  22. I want to do the ceiling the panels are pretty cheap.. something like $2.60 per 2'x4' panel no problem there. But the railing system costs $35 a pop and only covers 64 sq. ft. I would need roughly 33 of them. over $1100 for the rails and then almost $600 for the tiles.. Anyone got any tips on ceilings.. other than glueing panels to steel beams
  23. I know I was at my wifes family at Xmas, and they have their house similar to mine.. Except the basement is done down there. I was sitting on one end, and looked to the other.. Damn thats alot of work Wife still wants me to build the bathroom, and whatnot.. I am going to Home Depot or Lowes this friday.. Might as well start buying supplies. Wifes cousin said he will help me. He also gave me alot of good ideas..
  24. buddy bought one of them roller stands, and said its worthless. He said it would be wiser to just buy a set of Handy Stands for his bike..
  25. 2x4 walls, insulation behind that, and some like Tyvek barrier between them.. How would you secure the Tyvek to the walls? I will probably rent one of them bolt guns to pop the 2x4's to the basement concrete floor. Use pressure treated 2x4's for the bottom against the concrete floor.
