I added two shots of 15w fork oil to each side in under 5 mins I was back on the road. Also, decrease your tire pressure to 34f / 36r. Works for me! Be careful with dropping the tire pressures, IMO the XX is a heavy bike and is very sensitive to tires pressures and should be kept at 42psi

After my speedo blanked out, I went with the UK switchgear option. Worth every penny! Failing that a simple inline switch as suggested I reckon is well worth it as not only the HID life and XX's dianostics are eased, the battery takes a pounding from the intial start up current required to fire the ballast pre engine start.
