  1. Thanks for the heads-up, Josh! Any update on the front stand?
  2. I was wrong...he explains the mounting below...
  3. That just "drilled" it home for me. They sound like a chainsaw or something. That didn't sound deep and power filled like most after market pipes. That's exactly the sound I'd be trying to avoid, high pitched and buzzy. My RS-3 is a full system with no P/C and runs great except it still has the same flat spot around 3500 rpm that it had with the stock cans. Didn't even know I had the flat spot until I saw it on the dyno sheet. 138 HP at the rear wheel with 26K showing on the clock. Toss a PC on there and get it mapped right and you'll get rid of that flat spot.
  4. Like to get in a bid on the front stand if it comes available...
  5. LOL just like oil and tires, exhaust is another very opinionated subject. The first XX I ever rode was a 2001 with Two-Brothers and it was the sweetest sounding bike I'd ever heard. I got my 2002 XX with Two-Brothers and to this day love the deep musclecar rumble those pipes give a bike. The only ones that have come close to that sound to me have been Micron. D&D way too loud for my tastes. You'll have to try and hear a few before you figure out what you like in the sound and tone of aftermarket pipes. I like Two Brothers enough that I put a set of M5 Carbons on my ZX-14. I've also heard them on a K1200S and a FJR1300 and both sounded absolutely badass. I'm also not a fan of drilling the stock cans. The few I've heard (and it may be that they didn't do something right, I don't know) have sounded tinny and buzzy, but didn't sound at all "performance enhanced". I'd hold on to the stockers to sell later, should you part with your XX, and go for some slip-ons or a full system, though I think with a full system you definitely need to do the Power Commander remap.
  6. His was a '99. It'll fit your bike. In case you guys are wondering, he's in school right now and doesn't post that often, so I'm kinda keeping up with this thread for him.
  7. This is my buddy I was talking about. He just bought a 2K8 K1200S. I just found out about the scratch on the pipe, but the parts were in perfect condition. He keeps his stuff good and will do good business...I put my name behind him.
  8. I know someone that will be selling a very nice set of Micron black/silver fade duals from his '99 XX very soon...they are the only pipes I've heard that sound similar to the Two-Brothers and look damn good with a black bike...but I think he's looking to sell outright, to finance pipes for his new bike.
  9. Well tell her to get over it because in that pic, she's stunning! Seriously, there's something about a pregnant woman. It's not a sexual kind of beauty but more of a motherly, nurturing warm hug kind of womanly beauty. Don't lie Byrdy...it's a sexual thing too. Preganant women are putting off all kinds of pheromones that not only make them warm and nurturing, but also sets the twig and berries to tingling too. There's something hot about a pregnant woman...and no offense Furious, but yours is hot too...
  10. .... Cheers, ROFLMAO! I never saw this. Rest assured I'm working on it!
  11. Both the Garmin 2730 and the Valentine 1 were mounted using the standard which is 3" length, which, due to the mounting location on the bars, put both far enough above my tank bag to make me happy. The short is a 1.5" and the long is a 5". As someone else said, hold it where you want it and take a rough measurement and buy the arm length that is close to that.
  12. Don't you have to own like 2 other Ducati's before you can buy one of those? LOL!
  13. Ok so spill dammit! What is it? If I had the dosh I'd certainly scoop this one up for a fun local toy.
  14. Ahh fuck dude...thought you said you were waiting until spring?
  15. Damn...if I had an extra $2500 I'd buy that myself. Nice hooligan bike to have some fun with.
  16. Hmm..might be the size limitation. Try resizing them a bit? squareman15 AT yahoo DOT com
  17. I'd like to see the pics. Haven't seen the inside of a bike trans yet, or clutches, so it'd be good learning tool.
  18. So, the black one, then? Why do you assume I want the BLACK ones? Is it because I so blatantly dig Anson's chili? Once you go black you never go back...
  19. That's what I was wondering. Trundle that thing right up the loading ramp, tie it down, stack boxes all around it, roll out to wherever you're moving to... :icon_think:
  20. OK, that's interesting. This is a really noob question, but fuses can't kick off and then back on right? I mean, they are either toast or working, but can't go back and forth. That was my understanding. Once a fuse snaps, it's trash and needs to be replaced. I'd check the other things mentioned...connections, voltage, etc. It's something in that line of testing.
  21. Fascinating. Not sure. I'd check the connections on the Powerlet to the battery, make sure nothing is grounding funny. I use the same set up on my bike with my V1 and GPS, though I hit the SAE with a splitter into two cig style, and I haven't had any power issues at all.
  22. Are you using the cig outlet style powerlet connector? It may be that it's a hair too loose to plug your lighter power into. mine occasionally did that, but only after vibrating loose. A small peice of electrical tape around the plug kept it from coming out.
  23. Something in the wiring not quite right?
  24. The red/black is the more expensive model. The T-Rex builders probably buy the cheapest model to strip. Anyhow, I'd need the wheels also. Ahh the special edition. Ok. If I had $9K laying around, I'd buy it off you...I always wanted the blue but was too impatient to wait another 2 months LOL!
