    slip on ?

I just installed a set of slip on's, used. It appears when the original owner installed them he did not line them up, or maybe I should say he did not line them up the way I would like them. Question is how can I break the seal from the mid pipe to the cans without damaging either of them. I am assuming the original owner used what was supplied from two bro's when he installed them.
  3. Looking for some feedback or idea's I purchased a set of 2 bro slip ons from a private party, the Canister Bands are missing. I have been trying to get in touch with the seller to see if he still has them, have not heard from him. In the mean time I inquired about just purchasing them new, $45.00 seems pretty high. Any idea's on what else I could use to fab a set for less the $45?
  4. Just died, no warning did not sputter or lights go dim, just died
  5. I was standed today, some type of electrical problem. I beleive that it had something to do with the ignition that I had replaced about a year ago. I sure hope the the dealer will repair what ever the fuck they did not do correctly the first time. If it is not in the ignition anybody tell me how to track down electric shorts?
  6. I might take you up on that one Jeff, now if I can find one for reasonable $$ before Bend.
  7. D.I.D X -Ring Chains. 530ZVM/120 Links Is this a good quality chain?
  8. Can anyone tell me if this chain is worth a damn, XSo-gold, and is $45 too much to have a shop remove and install new chain.
  9. This happened to me as well in Cody last year. I ended up having a toggle switch put on the thing so I could get home, worked very well. When I ordered the part they tried to make me pay for the labor and Honda would pay for the parts, I gave them a bit of shit and did not pay for labor or the part as this has been a big problem especially with VFR's.
  10. It's the right side, do you need it if so when I replace it yours.
  11. Can't beat that Price, I could even afford to screw it up and damage it and buy a new one. thanks
  12. I have a few rubs and or scratches on my left mirror, what type of prep work would I need to do to repaint the mirror? I assume I can get matching silver paint through honda dealer.
  13. damn me too, that is one thing my wife complains about is her knee's start too hurt, shit wrong topic!
  14. Yes I did, still pisses me off as well the next step I plan on taking is shaving some of the inside area from the throttle lock to see if that loosen things up a bit
  15. Damn that is very nice, Cal when you track down the little garage in the UK let me know, sound like a road trip!!
  16. Joe regarding what wires, there are three wires that connect to the ignition a blue w/ orange, red w/ black and a solid red. I have the solid red on the one side of the togle switch and the other two on the other. I believe the red w/ black goes to the fuel pump and is powered as well when connected to the solid red. Damn if anyone wanted to steal one it sure would be easy. So the dealer calls me up and said the new ignition is in and to bring the bike in today. Great, go there drop my bike off and get a call back a few hours later and wouldn't you know it they ordered the wrong part, a 99 not a 2002. The difference is the steering lock does not match up. To top it off when they were trying to install the new ignition they cut away some length off the current wires and when they try to correct this again I am going to be a little concern if there is going to be enough length remaining for the ignition. Can hardly wait for this fucking thing to raise it's fucking head.
  17. That's the combo that I just put on, have not put a hell of a lot of time on the bike since so can't tell you anything at this point.
  18. I got them @ Pro Caliber in Vancouver WA.
  19. I just paid $230, which included mounting.
  20. Well, Randy only Jeff and Cal know if they were able to keep there girls Happy! I know Lori was!
  21. I spoke to the dealer today after trying air compressor, powder graphit, with no luck. Spoke to the service rep discussed the situation and what took place in Cody installing the toggle swicth to elementate the ignition. Service rep asked me to bring the bike by (after he spoke with the west coast honda rep) to confirm the problem and to make sure that it was not caused by someone trying to steal the bike. After he inspected the condition of the ignition, he ordered a new one that should be here in a few days at no charge. The only bad thing is the key will not match the other 2 locks on the bike. oh well, he did say this has happened a few other times and the last time that it happened it was to a vfr. later steve
  22. Well since I needed to get home I cut the wires and installed a toggle switch for an ingnition. I will try the air compressor, then go from there. I did try wd 40, and an electrical cleaner that you spray in but with no luck. Damn thing goes in as slick as snot but will not turn! damn pisses me off.
  23. Question, has anyone had problems with your key going into the ingnition but not able turn to start your bike, tried both keys? It's the shits when this takes place in Cody, WY! And if so what did you end up doing to correct the problem?
  24. I just installed a NEP throttle lock and I have a question when installed, should the throttle release all by itself, should I need to use my hand to turn the throttle back when the lock is not latched? Not that it is difficult but just want to make sure the thing is installed correct.
  25. I started pulling my bird into the living room and I just got foot right up my ass, Randy can you give my wife a call and tell about the importance of parking the bird in the house
