After my husband knocked my bike over and broke my new turn signals, I decided to upgrade and buy some LED turn signals to take their place. After plugging them in, and testing them, the turn signal light remains on...but doesnt blink. Read the instructions a little more closely and saw that I may need a flash controller, so I bought them and plugged them in. Still doesnt blink at all....just stay's on. WTF am I doing wrong? If my battery is running low, would this interfere?

yes it would. You need a good charge in the battery.

You could test it by jumpering a car battery to it, or putting the battery charger on. If the blinkers don't work then, its something else.

which led indicators did you purchase?

Did you connect them straight to the flasher unit and then to the power or are you running them through the old OEM flasher unit?

The l.e.d. lights draw less power. If you have a 2 wire flasher relay they won't blink. If it's a 3 wire they will blink real fast. Basically it acts like when a bulb burns out. Quick and cheap solution is to install resistors between the + and - wires to give the circuit enough amperage draw to activate the flasher relay. The flasher is nothing more than a current sensing relay. Of course if you have a 3 wire flasher relay none of this matters and something else is wrong.

Thanks guys! I figured it out. I was using a larger resistor because the smaller one wasnt doing anything. But when I put the resistor in, the stupid speed clips werent penetrating all the way through the casing to the wire, so of course nothing was happening. I just spliced into the wire, and through out those stupid clips. Thanks for the help!

I hate those damn clips. That happens to me everytime I try and use them. Glad you got it figured out 8)
