scott s. Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 is it normal to have metalic particals in the oil when you change it ,this is a new motor? thanks scott s. Quote
Motor Psycho Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 That would depend on how much metal your talking about and where it was. Sometimes small particles can be found in the filter on the first oil change but none should be in the oil as you drain it from the engine. Are you sure the container you drained your oil into was clean before you started? Quote
demon Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 That's called break-in. As long as there's nothing big in it, you're fine. Quote
Pete in PA Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 If this is the first oil change on a new factory engine it's leftover machineing particles...Normal. Quote
