Michael Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Hi! I am wondering if it will increase the length between seat and footpegs. I am 6.2" with long legs, it cramps my legs when I travel longer distance. Or maybe other suggestion?? Thanks! Michael Quote
Warchild Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Joe has lowered his footpegs using some aftermarket bits, looks like it works for him. An old football injury to the right knee is making me think hard about this farkle myself.... Quote
Michael Posted June 10, 2003 Author Posted June 10, 2003 Thank! However, would it be too low for cornering? I am thinking about higher the seat as well.. Michael Quote
Obby Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 I second Rockme's suggestions. Here's what I did. I use aftermarket beveled footpegs (1/2" gain), and a corbin gunfighter/lady (1 in. or so... very comfy seat). It doesn't sound like much, but it made a noticable difference. Good luck. Ps. Stretching really well before a ride helps alot. Quote
Involute Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Wasn't there a guy that posted some real good stuff (with pics) about using LP pegs for a CBR600 on one of the old boards? If I recall he got about an inch more leg room with a nice looking install. If any of you know where that is (with part numbers) I may do some last minute mods. Quote
BIG BOY Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Here is the part number for the pegs Joe bought Super Pole V-360 K/M Pegs from Lockhart phillips. Quote
Involute Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Thanks gents! I didn't remember that Joe was that "guy". Quote
Involute Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Damn. no place in town stocks them. I wish this came up (or I had thought about it) a few weeks ago. The way my knees have been feeling lately you guys may have to help me off the bike by the time I get to Cody. Quote
Involute Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Excellent advise Joe. Thanks. I'll start searching. I've got the gel seat and drugs covered. I will indeed take off the existing rubber on the pegs. :bike: Quote
mikeG Posted June 11, 2003 Posted June 11, 2003 I have a set of those LP adjustable pegs like Joe had in his referenced post. Hav had them on and off the bike several times, and they are off right now. Problem is when you adjust them full down, they interfere with the sidestand, even after cutting off the side branch. I then pushed them back and down a little, which was pretty comfortable but very hard to shift because the peg was too far away from the shift lever. Might try them again if I can find a shift lever that is longer. Anybody know of one? Like someone said, these were probably designed for being mounted in the "up" position, and would then work fine. I may do the remove the rubber thing, and I am also going to get my Sargent seat built up about an inch. MikeG Quote
Michael Posted June 11, 2003 Author Posted June 11, 2003 Thanks Obby, Where did you get the corbin gunfighter/lady?? I don't want to try aftermarket ped yet.. Michae Quote
scubajohn Posted June 11, 2003 Posted June 11, 2003 there is one for sale in the for sale section of the board. If you get one from corbin be ready to get screwed by there crapy customer service. And they will tell you Oh ya you will have it next week for about 3 months. or you can try Ebay they have been poping up regularly now that I bought one hehehe. Quote
birdrunner Posted June 11, 2003 Posted June 11, 2003 Thank! However, would it be too low for cornering?I am thinking about higher the seat as well.. Michael when I ordered my Corbin saddle, I specified I wanted it 1/2 in higher than stock. voila, it worked. My knees are buggered, but I can do a 10 hr day on the bird without any problems. Quote
