Never had a bike with a hydro clutch. My bike is only miles away from me doing the 12,000 mile service.

So just how do you go about doing it? Santa didn't bring me a shop manual like I had hoped.

Last time at my bike shop they didn't have any for the XX, So I will need to order one.

I don't have a mighty vac if you could use them on this, so will have to do it the old fasion way

It's just like bleeding the brakes, one bleeder valve down on the slave cylinder in front of the left footpeg.

Mighty-Vac works wonders here, worth the $30 investment. Remove the resevoir cap, hook up mighty-vac, open bleed valve and suck until you get fresh fluid coming through- remembering to keep the resevoir topped off

No mighty-vac, you'll have to do it the old fashioned way, pumping the fluid through with the lever.

Removing the windscreens helps a lot with accessing/filling the resevoir

Keep the fluid AWAY from all paintwork and also kep a bottle of water handy just in case it splaters. It's an easy one-man job... use DOT 4 fluid. This should be done every year or so along with your brakes as well.

I can't tell you how sad this makes me.....

When I do all brake jobs, I run a peice of clear tubing from the bleed valve into a coke bottle or something. This helps to keep any mess to a minimum, and less chance of getting some on my paint.

Rockme.. I am still suffering from Santa forgetting it

 No, I thought that was gone. I was going to send him an e-mail with my backup copy.

If you go with 5.1, or Motul RBF 600, it won't discolor as quickly.

The DOT 4 doesn't seem to like the heat of the clutch system. :???:

I've had good luck with Valvoline Syn power DOT 4. Available anywhere and cheap.

Little color change in 2 years which is when I change it.
