IcePrick
The manifold has a couple of dents in the bottom, but would be a good candidate for the freezer trick. The cans are uncut, and have a little rash on the outside leading edge of each from tip-overs. Otherwise they are in very good shape, and the rash would probably sand and polish out very well. Make it worth my time and expense to pack/ship them and they're yours. $60 plus shipping would make me happy. I know they aren't worth a lot, but I hate to send them to a landfill thinking someone could use them...
blackhawkxx
I have been wanting to pick up a spare 97 header but do not want any dents. That is why I have replaced them. Tell me about the freezer trick. Edited April 7, 2014 by blackhawkxx
IcePrick
Pour water in the header tube that has the dent, just enough to cover the dent and then a little bit - 1-2 inches past the dent. Situate the header in the freezer so the dent and the water are at the lowest point. Freezing it may push the dent out, if not, you can keep trying with more water each time until it looks good or you split the header. Chewtoy
Might be able to use the left can. Can you post a shot of it?
kiwimack
I did the freezer trick.on a mid pipe. I capped the ends of the pipe with rubber gloves filled it with water and froze it overnight. dent gone. Maybe after just the header? IcePrick
Best I can do. The rest of the can looks like a BB can - no major scratches, and zero dents. I think some sanding and buffing would make the existing scars much less visible.
