FS-2008 Ducati 1098

Recommended Posts

I hate to do it, but it's time to put my beloved Duc up for sale. I'm not riding any more and it's a waste to let the bike just sit in the garage. It started life as the first 2008 in Oklahoma and I've turned it into what I call a 1098S+ with the suspension parts. It's a great bike and I hope the new owner will enjoy it as much as I have. The pic in my avatar is the bike when it was a few days old. It doesn't show most of the mods. I can send pics if you are interested. I'm asking $12,000 and I think that's fair considering everything included with the bike.

I should have mentioned that the Ohlins suspension bits are not OEM Ducati that would be found on the 'S' models. The bits on my bike are the top of the line Ohlins parts and were the best available. The Dan Kyle triple clamps are 30mm offset and dramatically improve the handling.

You may have heard that Ducatis are uncomfortable, but I don't find that to be true. Believe it or not, I actually found the Duc to be more comfortable than my old XX.

Back to the top. One of you guys need to buy this great bike. Like Travis said, this is a GREAT deal for some lucky rider. :icon_biggrin:

Thanks Tom. I know most guys here don't keep up with Duc stuff, but the suspension bits aren't the relatively cheap OEM Ohlins bits. They are top line aftermarket items. The Kyle triple tree makes a world of difference too. The bike corners unbelievably well.

I try to keep up on all of the stuff. Been looking at the 1199 actually. Can't afford the S but the regular version has a sweet deal going on now. Those Ohlin's bits sure aren't cheap. Hence the difference in price stepping to the S.

You're right and the Ohlins parts on my bike are a big step above the parts that come on the S models. My bike would likely run away and leave a stock 1199 or 1199S in the twisties.

I think my original price was more than fair, but this great bike hasn't sold, so I must be wrong.

I lost my job and this bike has to go. I'll take $11,000 for it and that's an absolute steal. Please look at the first page for a list of the features included. I'll listen to reasonable offers too.

I don't understand why this bike isn't in someone else's garage by now. I've had a few people ask about it, but no one has even come to look at it.

It's in perfect shape with great accessories, better suspension than a 1098S and I think the price is very fair (AKA cheap!). Do I need better pictures, is the price still too high, are there other questions I can answer, etc.?

I'm stumped and I need to sell this Ducati.

If I had the money, it would be in my garage. It is close to the embodiment of perfection, to me.

I have too much financial turmoil in the coming year - but that can't be the story for everyone. Is it getting all the exposure it needs? Cycle Trader, Ducati forums? ADVRider?

The time of year is getting critical as well. I had a bike for sale this past spring at a fair (I thought) price with no serious lookers.

I'm 6'-6" and this bike is surprisingly comfortable the way it's set up. I also have the passenger seat and pegs.

Yeah. The bike was brand new then and still had the paper dealer tag. The Termi exhaust was on, but not much else yet. God, I still love the music that thing makes!!

Thanks for posting the vid!
