Molybdenum is best. What did they look like? The splines are where all of the Valkyries eat their drivetrain over time, mostly because most dealers don't even bother to check them. I'd look at the cush drive, as well. The little rubber bumpers dry and split. After that, I'd check the u-joint and the output shaft for play. After that... Look at the rear shocks -- I know a couple folks that bent the shocks and didn't know it. The rubber top shock mount inserts also go bad. Both conditions manifested themselves as weird vibrations. Most of my off-the-top-of-my-head knowledge about 1500 machines is from Valkyries, but they're not that different.

Did you moly-grease the driveshaft splines?

I'll let them go for face value ($40 I think) including mailing/shipping. These do not include general admission to the race -- they're just daily parking spots (no overnight parking).

Short it how? Getting what voltage? A relay has two inputs: the input that activates the switch, and the input that is carried through the switch. Uh. The ECM controls the switch on the relay. That's how it 'signals' the pump.

If you know the pump is good, and you can hear the relay switch when you turn the key, why are you looking at the ECM? Trace backward from the pump until you find the break in the circuit.

Just buy new ones, and clean and repack the bearings while you're at it.

You know the fuel pump is good, so start tracing backward.

Buy one off ebay and give it a try.
