mrcisco
So, is anyone running Mobil 0w 40 in their XX's. If so, how is it compared to Amsoil?
Pete in PA
How many pages back did this dead thread come from??? I wouldn't run 0W-40 just because it's not called out for in the manual, where 10W-40 and 20W-50 are. With you being in Arizona I would stick with the heavier oils. At LEAST 10W-40. JMO. Northman
I have 5 quarts of Amsoil 0W40 sitting here waiting for installation in the XX in the next week. Last oil change I used Castrol Syntec 5W50, and was less than impressed with my shifts after switching from the Castrol 10W40 motorcycle oil. The more I've learned about oils (and engines) in the last year or so leads me to believe we've all been using way too thick of an oil, which is doing nothing more than robbing us of horsepower. Not to mention how slowly it circulates on cold starts
The Krypt Keeper
Holy shiznit Batman  Someone is waking up posts from the dead.. I have also switched to 5W-40 and havn't noticed a shifting problem.. Only time will tell and when I take a trip to the mountains on how good the new thinner oil is.
