Shimming rear shock question .

The washer goes between the removable bracket at the top of the shock and the frame crossmember. The easiest way, is to have a shim that is open on one end, (sort of a "U" shape) so that you can put the bike on the center stand, loosen the top bolt, and slip the shim into place. If you use plain round washers for shims, you will probably need to remove the entire shock to get the shims in place. Then you will need to fight getting the top shock cross bolt fit back into the locating hole for the coolant overflow reservoir.
