Excellent 99 TL1000R with Ohlins shock FS

Recommended Posts

I just bought this really, really nice TL1000R. I've run a couple tanks through it, and had a ball, but I can't stop thinking about a 690 enduro. I can't have both.

Located in Watertown, SD

It's a 99 TL1000R in about 8.5 or 9/10 condition. Nearly mint with just a couple minor scuffs on the right fairing. It doesn't look like its ever been dropped.

Its a V-twin superbike!

25xxx miles
Ohlins fully adjustable shock. This is a big deal - Stock rotary dampers sucked and this shock runs north of $1500.
Reworked forks (according to the PO - I have no proof)
Rubber is good
Chain and sprockets look pretty good
D&D slip-ons (stock pipes included)
Power Commander

The bike runs great and sounds incredible. Nothing beats the sound of a sporty twin.

Lets start at $4000.

About the only thing I'd trade for is a 690 Enduro

Start up clip. Wish I had something better than a phone for this.

Was looking very hard for one of these earlier in the year. Super cool bike and rare to find one visually in this good condition.

Suspension was this bike's Achilles heel and apparently yours has been corrected. If it's still around in the spring, we may need to have a conversation.

GLWS!

When I was looking I mostly found bikes that were either:

Bastardized (neon lights and stretched swingarms) or wrecked junk

Or

Very nice, but bone stock, and expensive (some guys are asking 5K for clean stock ones)

This bike was such a nice find because it is really clean, but had the few mods I would actually want.. suspension being the biggest of them. The pipe and PC are nice too.. this bike just NEEDS a pipe.

I see you can still get this shock on ebay for about 1900. The mods would cost 70% of the price I'm asking.

At this point, I figure I'll have it until spring, and thats fine. It can sit in my heated shop where I can start it up and enjoy the music once a month.
