Top rack was used year-around. Side racks install with quarter-turn fasteners for the occasional long-distance trip and can be removed and left in your hotel while touring your destination site. Check out the pictures and the links. One piece of original metric hardware was lost somewhere between Minnesota and San Fransisco. It was replaced with what was available. Functional but not cosmetically perfect. Also, I used a Givi plate from my Monorack and that is not included in this sale. You will need to supply your own top mount plate.
