TOXXIC
I just pulled the third member (ring and pinion) out of the rear differential of my Samurai. Looks like I wacked a rock really hard just aft of the drive line, and smashed the collar on the front of the third member. I had been getting a horrible howl while driving. Preliminary check of the axle housing near the wheel bearings didn't reveal any heat, however, there was heat at the input to the third member. Must be getting used to working on the little bitch. Brake lines, Both drums, axles, drive lines, and third member out in just under two hours. Or, about three beers. Hardest part was beating the drum brake covers off. Now to dismantle, pull out the locker and find a used third member housing, and ring and pinion..........................
Rider99XX
I sure miss my Samurai. Six inches of lift, 33" Mudders. It would go just about anywhere. Even go down most 4 wheeler trails
