VFR Bars again

Do yourself a favor and do heated grips at the same time. For me, that was the best part of the upgrade.

Here's the part numbers. I ordered from www.ronayers.com

They seem to have some of the best prices. They also have an online fiche for the XX.

2002 VFR Bars

53150-MCW-D00 HANDLEBAR, L. 88.70

New Bar Weights - if you want them, need 2 of each.

Steve, nice comparison pictures.

A firefighter I work with bought a 2002 VFR, and wants to install his new helibars. I'm going to offer to help with the install, and see if he will let me dispose of his stock VFR bars for him!!

OK, to recap, Heli makes bars for the XX and VFR. What would happen if I got Heli's for the VFR for my XX or are they the same???

I'm looking for the highest bars of these combos.

I currently have Heli's, came with the bike when I bought it used.

Are VFR bars the same height as Heli's for the XX?

leave it to Honda to charge more for one VFR bar than the other. :lol:

Only way I could lower my seat is if I had my legs amputated. No wait, then I would need a sidecar. Hey Zentime!!!

Right now I have the Heli's raised up as high as I dare. About 1 inch.

I still get wrist pain on all day rides. Do need a throttle lock though.

Why is the throttlemiss. so expensive? It's just 2 bar weights with a special mechanism. $135 :shock:

Must be for the notch that is cut out on the right bar for the brake switch wires. :)

Like Joe said, you will definitely need longer lines. I just don't thing you could still use the stock brake and clutch lines, and the throttle cables may be a bit short. I did have to spin the cables down closer to the brake lever so they cleared the triple clamp bolt better. As for the wiring, I think there is enough slack behind the guages. I don't think the windscreen would be a problem, since they are also farther back. I don't think I even come close to having an issue there with the VFR bars.

If you really want higher, Spiegle makes a superbike bar kit that allows you to use a tubular handlebar and I think comes with lines. It only shows a 98 & 99 model on this list, but assume would work on all.

I'd be tempted to do this (VFR bars) but am afraid

of the extra costs of having to get the VFR adapter

for my throttlemiester..

Anyone deal with this issue yet?
