ADDING WATER

TFT

Recommended Posts

You live in AK, no? Plain water would freeze and water wetter does not affect the freezing temp of water, so add some Honda 50/50 premixed coolant. Don't use automotive coolant.

This is my Illinois bike and I am in fucking hot Lansing Michigan right now. :icon_biggrin:

Soon to be in Towanda, PA

I called the local Honda shop, they didn't have any pre-mix honda antifreeze. The guy told me to put in any "green" pre-mix antifreeeze for autos.

If it's not desparate, I'll toss a bottle of the Honda stuff in, and we can add it at NeXXt.

Distilled water would be fine.

It would be better to pull the right lower loose and check the radiator level.

The overflow is exactly that, a bottle to catch overflow and let it return to the system as the bike cools.

My 01 leaked once after very long, slow speed ride.

I found that all the hose clamps were loose. Wouldn't hurt to tighten them while you are checking levels.

+1 on Checking the hose clamps first ride this season I smelt coolant. Started looking around and the top hose on the rad was leaking a very small amount. As luck would have it I could tighten it throw the hole in the pannel so I didn't even have to take it off.
