Turn signal problem

I noticed while 2-up riding the other day that my turn signals weren't working. I brought bike home and noticed the following issues: my running lamps in the mirrors were on while bike was running and when I pushed the turn signal button to the left, the left mirror running lamp went off. When I canceled the turn signal, the lamp came back on. Does the same thing on the right side. Meanwhile, neither turn light in the rear comes on at all. Earlier that day they started working fine, but then just quit. I looked at the connectors in the back by the computer and all looked ok. I also noticed that my front brake lever activates my rear brake light, but the rear brake pedal does not activate the rear brake light now. Not sure if they are related issues. Any ideas on things I can check like voltage or specific wires.

Thanks

Would be the flasher unit for the turn signals is now dead. Just had the same thing happen to mine last month.

And check down by your rear break peddle and make sure you did not loose the little spring on the switch. IF its there remove your seat and just check to see if the connection is still tight.

At that connection take a small jumper and short out both wires to each other. That should turn your light on. If so. your switch is bad.

If your bike is 99-00 model, you probably are experiencing the dreaded wire loom problem. Bite the bullet and do the fix, cut and solder job. If not it will haunt you forever. Trust me.

Instructions are posted in here somewhere...

Update: found that when I wiggled the wire loom block that I recently cleaned, the turn signal lights and the rear brake light worked again. I'm going to see if I can put a clamp on the wires to hold them in place. If not, I'll have to find someone who does soldering work. Hint: if there is anyone close to me who can help with this, I'd appreciate it. Just send me a PM.

Thanks for all the help.
