beondwacko
Hi Kids, I'm not looking into buying some new fork springs for the big red couch and I have a couple of quick questions. First question is in regards to the spring rate. What is a "proper" rate for a rider who weighs approx 220 lbs with gear? My riding style is mostly easy to moderate in the turns. My second question is on the fork oil weight that would compliment the new springs. I just had a great ride this past weekend (2 up ) and it's time to improve the handling for more great rides 2 up in the near future. Thanks in advance for the advise and replies. jcrich
Here ya go, chart from Traxxion Dynamics. As far as fork oil, the standard Honda weight, 10wt. I believe is sufficient.

jcrich
Most reckon the XX is over damped stock so a lighter oil would give a softer ride on smaller bumps I found that although the lighter oil did indeed make for a bit smoother ride in a straight line, it made the handling too "bouncy" in the corners. Really depends on what you are looking for. In any case after market springs and new oil will make a noticeable difference.

Clik Yeah I just put some 1.2kg/mm fork springs from Sonic in my XX, 6 days from order to delivery here in Perth West Aus They were the only ones that had springs heavy enough for me
