akmaxx
For sale on Craigslist in Anchorage. I didn't get but two days to ride this Summer because of remote work, next Summer doesn't look all that promising for riding time either. Cracked and scratched front fairings, balding rear tire but otherwise in good shape. New battery and tags until 09. Know anybody up here who wants one that needs a little cosmetic work? Maxx 907 25zero 9sixsixseven

Actually it is unmodified and, aside from the fairings, looks really good. Cheers.
TFT
I would guess that those two days of riding were rough ones. Is the damage limited to just the two lowers and the front fairing? Where are you in Anchorage? I live in Palmer.

I bought it, sight unseen, whille working in Barrow, and I don't know what the guy I bought it from did to damage it. Their are no scratches from the front fairings backs, so I guess he hit something head on. Doubt is was a moose because the it would have hoof marks from the trampling right after the impact. Call me at 907 two five 0 966seven to take a look. I am on lower Hillside.
Texhoss
I understand you don't have the time to ride, but is it to cold to ride, when does your riding season end in Alaska? Sorry about you needing to sell the Bird.

Sorry about you needing to sell the Bird. Reduced to $3995. More updated pics on Craigs Anchorage. I have ridden as late as November and as early as March, depends on the ice on the road. I have also ridden through 3 inches of snow in Yellowstone and that was based solely on stupidity. Cheers.

You or your trusted mechanic looks it over, hands me cash, I give them title and it's yours. Keeping it simple. Thanks for the responses. This is a pretty actively watched board. Cheers. akmaxx
This is up for sale again. I will be in Anchorage April 1st to show it before my Summer in the bush begins. Anybody interested? Same price as before.
akmaxx
I just started it up after a long Winter and it is ready to ride now. If this were in Seattle I could sell it for 5,000 instantly. I leave for the Bush on April 8th and will only be back occasionally during the riding season. Priced to sell. Attached is a pic. of one the nicer places I get to go in the Summer (if the generals are really pissed at you you can end up in places that make Barrow look like Maui). Cheers. No offense, but with a cracked front rim, front fairing and lowers cracked, needs new tires, front fender and rear cowl scratched up, plus missing interior fairing pieces, incorrect footpegs, etc, I'm thinking it probably won't quite pull $5,000. But good luck.
TOXXIC
+1, that's quite a bit of money in parts, plus $5K

But good luck. No offense taken, TFT. It's good to have an enthusiast's personal view of the bike. I seem to recall you offered me 2,500 for the bike but someone, other than yourself who didn't want it perfect, may not have to bring it up to factory standards and would think that my 3995 price wasn't too bad a deal all round. I do believe that, if I were in Seattle, I would have quite a few lookie-lous and one of them would come up with more than 3995. Cheers. P.S. I got an offer yesterday for 3500 but I can wait a little while. I reposted it on Anchorage Craigslist if you would like to take another look. The only other ones in Craigs in AK are 8000 for a 2002 and 4000 for a 1997 so availability has a little something to do with the price.
