Hookman49
I just bought (and mounted) a pair of Vance & Hines slip on's (SS2-R's) from Ebay. They do have some very minor scratches on them. Is there anyway to polish out these scratches? Can I use a fine steel wool? Ken
v00d00child
Bought a yosh system for my FJ1200 awhile back, and the can had several "character marks". Some of the gouges were pretty deep, but I hit it with a medium grit sander disc, then fine, then some rubbing compound, and she polished right up. Took maybe 4 hours total. If the cans don't currently have a polished finish, it might be a little tougher to match. Is it possible to dismount the endcaps from the can sleeve? If so, might be able to remove, turn 180 degrees, and reassemble. Good luck!

Pete in PA
Are the cans alluminum or stainless steel? I'm thinking the SS2R's are stainless or nickel plated. Very hard to do anything with.
Hookman49
Thanks guys. I am going to just try some polish on them and see if that helps. Love the sound of these pipes though. Should have got a set a long time ago. Ken
Speed99
Mother's Aluminum polish, takes about 3-5 minutes This is what I use as well. I stripped and polished the rims and use mother's on those parts as well. Good Chit. -Rick
