cabinfever
I picked up a set of used Hindle polished aluminum slip-ons for a great price for my Superhawk... They have a few somewhat deep knicks/scratches around the Hindle logo as well as normal wear and tear scratches. Polishing won't get rid of the deeper scratches, so any ideas on what I can do to get rid of/cover them? Powdercoat? Rhino liner? I'm all for going black on them... Just wanted to make sure powder coating was gonna work.
Byrdman
Scotchbrite in the same direction will give the pipes a brushed look. If that's not what you want, you can sand the scratched area with progressively finer and finer abrasive (Sand paper, steel wool, Scotchbrite pads) and then try liquid abrasives (Simi-chrome) until you get a decent finish. Then a polishing wheel with rouge to polish it again.
cabinfever
Thanks Jeff... I'll try the scotchbrite approach... its real cheap! The brushed look would be cool.
