optical
Does anyone know if the stock bars from a 2002 VFR will fit right onto my 2003 XX. Are the stock brake and clutch lines long enough. Also what is a good going price for a set of used bars.
jblackbird2000
Search is our friend. Try it sometime! Yes. 2002-2006 VTech VFR bars will fit any year bird. Here's a GREAT thread, way old, but great pics and explainations. http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?...pic=347&hl= It's an easy mod, and should only take an hour or so. Some guys pay upward of $130, others only pay 25-50. It all depends on if you find a motivated seller. Good luck! Jay
SoloTSi97
It's an easy mod, and should only take an hour or so. Please excuse what is likely a newbie question. What's the advantage to installing these bars, as opposed to installing risers under the stock bars? I just got my XX a couple weeks ago, but it came with risers already installed. What would the difference likely be between this sort of setup and VFR clip-ons? Thanks, -Bob
Guest rockmeupto125
There's a slightly different angle and setback than the stockers. Risers merely raise the stock bars, which you can do without the risers anyway.

Guess next year, when I'll hopefully make it to one of the big group meets, I'll have to check one out. Thanks for the info.

They rise about an inch and set back about an inch (I'm guessing, never actually measured). Even at todays prices at over $100 used they're still a good mod.
