PlasticxxHead
Symptoms: Cruizing at 4000 rpms on the highway...In 6th gear... Wack the throttle open... She pulls up to 5000-5200 rpms. then lages a bit.. keep the throttle open and she works through the hindering.. but it takes maybe a second or two.. Once she gets above 5800 she takes off again.. I have had this problem last season , but it seems to be getting worse Is this a symptom of Valves.. or Carb sync.. bad gas supply.. fuel pump? 1997 Carbed...K&N Jet kit...K&N filter.. Stock headers.. Micron Slips....16 tooth up front Any help fellas!!!
CBRBob
It would seem to be where the needles are clipped in the carbs. I would check valve clearance anyway. Clean out the throttle bores and the butterfly with carb cleaner, sync the carbs anyway. If all is well, move the needles. Which way is the question. If its just soft through the stumble, its rich, if it stutters, its lean.
typicalmale1978
It wouldn't hurt to run a can of seafoam through before you go tearing your bike apart. The stuff really does work as advertised.
Pete in PA
I can tell you it's NOT the fuel pump. (unless you installed one, then it is.) Sounds like you need to lift the needles one notch.
