Redbird
What do the speakers and gloves draw? It shouldn't be a problem either way for a longer trip, but if you're doing short hops the battery is also recovering from starting the bike, so you're more likely to run into problems. You've got the 8500, put it in voltemeter mode and moniter what's going on once you get it going again.

The 8500 should draw little or no power 2-500mw is my guess. The electric gloves probably draw 30-50W and the Ipod should be a few hundred mw as well. What is the speaker for Ipod? How many Watts is it? I know the output of the pre FI has less output. Driving on the highway should be fine but I'd guess in the city you'd be killing your battery if the fan is coming on and running that gear. Of course that would depend on the size of the speaker. bonox
shouldn't have any trouble at al powering that lot unless there is a problem or you're just nipping down to the corner store a lot (but why would you take the gloves then?) the carbed birds do have a lower alternator output, but the injectors, high pressure fuel pump and other farkles of the EFI models suck up the increase. Red J
When you get home, pull the tailsection off and see if your RR unplugs easily. Mine was draining the battery on electric gloves, no matter what the RPM I ran it at.
