bpg
In talking to some folks on some touring forums, I understand that when ABS first came out for bikes there were several aftermarket companies making units that often worked as good as or better than OEM.. A) Anyone know anything about this? Anyone ever try this on a BB? Thanks!
Guest rockmeupto125
I recall no advanced technical discussion concerning it. I looked into swapping the ABS from a VFR over to the XX, but apparently its tied into the ECU, and that's where my interest immediately waned. Which means I can't help you, so don't bother reading this.
shovelstrokeed
To my knowledge, there are no after-market ABS systems available. There are comanies who operate as more or less independent entities that build ABS systems, such as Delphi, Bosch and Continental Teves, but they only sell to OEMs. Best way to get an ABS bike is to buy one new anyway. There is a lot more to the technology than meets the eye. Integrating one of those systems into a modern motorcycle is no trivial task.
