Red J
I got a new battery, in which I'm just now dumping the electrolyte. When I charge it overnite, do I leave the cap off?
Obby
I got a new battery, in which I'm just now dumping the electrolyte. When I charge it overnite, do I leave the cap off? Yep. At least I do. I also use a low voltage charge, like 2amps for overnight stuff. I prefer the sealed batteries, but I've definately use the others.
Red J
I thought that was the correct method. This one's supposedly sealed, but you have to drop the acid first, then put on the caps. Rock on. J.
airborneXX
What Obby said. When the battery charges the electrolyte gels up.
SpokaneXX
Pour the acid in...let it set an hour or so then refill to full marks...then charge...less than two amps would be nice...wire in a couple of lightbulbs between the charger and battery if need be... Red J
I've got 2A setting on my charger, and it trickles off when it's topped.
