HERBXX
Hopefully this will help with the cracks in the rear cowl , its just 1/2 inch tube with a nut welded in each end.

HERBXX
Mabe . but im not really set up to reproduce anything. Im more into concepts then production , but if you can't find one closer to home we can work somethingout. If i could get some threaded insert cheap some where it would help, mabe i could use t-nuts, The tricky part is to get the length dead on. IF was going to build a few i gues i could build a bit of a jig . It also could made of of aluminum rod with a hole drilled and taped in each end . I used bolts left over from my givi mounts, i dont really have a good source of cool hardware. Herb
Keith
What problem is this trying to solve? Is cracking of the rear cowl a common problem? I haven't seen anything about it on the list.
HERBXX
It happens, I think most often when additional racks are involved. I caught mine when it was just under the grab rail and was in invisible without removing it, othershave also reported it . That area of the subframe is not very strong against lateral loads. I figure it cann't hurt and will help prevent some of the flexing that may be causing the cracks. Herb
