testrider
Hi all, Last night I measured my rear sag and found that I have 48mm of static sag with me sitting on it! So I figure that I need to adjust it and give it a test run before I decide on an aftermarket shock. My questions are: - I tried to use a rod to loosen the lock ring with the shock in place and both lock ring and adjustment ring turned together. Is there any trick how to do it with the shock in place or will I have to take it out? - If I have to take it out, can I throw away the lock ring so if I need to adjust it again, I won't have to remove the shock? (I saw Penske shock doesn't even come with a lock ring so it must be ok?) - Now the million-dollar question is: how much am I supposed to tighten it down to reduce my rear sag to 35mm? Is there a rule of thumb somewhere that says that "1 turn clockwise = 5 mm sag" or something like that? Thank you very much for your help in advance. I would appreciate it. -Mike-
HERBXX
I broke mine loose with a screwdriver and hammer. Then after i adjusted i put a dap of silicone rubber on it to keep it from moving. I would guess the penski rings have a set screw in them to keep them from moving. Herb
TFT
Rear sag adjustment advise? My wife says she's beginning to suffer from "rear sag". I figure nailing her in the ass a few times a week ought to do the trick.
