nomuseo
Anyone have any idea about tumble driers, ours went on the blink at the weekend, it is working, it is just not putting any heat out to dry the clothes. I guess they have some kind of heating element, if so, is it likely to be be that & is it worth getting fixed or do I need to head to Sears & get a new machine (rather spend the money on a set of pipes for the bike.........)???????????? Cheers Pete
TOXXIC
Should be able to install a new heating element. Not that tough, call Sears and provide them your model number.
TOXXIC
Oh, and UNPLUG the dryer before you install the element. Last thing you want to get zapped with is 220.

Guest
Got the hint about unplugging first!!!! I quite fancied the idea of a spikey hairdo though....... Thanks for the help. Cheers Pete
Northman
I replaced mine about a month or two ago. New dryer $400 New element $40 Well worth replacing the heating element, and fairly simple, too.
rickrad
Assuming, is it electric or gas?
Guest
It is electric..........As chance would have it, the guy who came out to look at our A/C unit (something else that needs fixing apparently......)happened to be a biker who was a washing machine / drier mechanic previously, so job done - no cost, thank yooooouuuu. Turns out it was the heating element protector (2 of apparently), he took out the faulty one & wired it to run with the remaining one for the time being. Wife was happy that night, funny that................
xrated
Not to alarm you but, get someone out there that knows what they are doing! There is a reason that there are TWO safety devices on the dryer instead of one. If this guy is bypassing one of the elements, you are asking for trouble. Get it done right. Is it worth have your house burn down if something goes wrong??
