And the bike is going to get some attention in the winter and when the snow melts it´s going to look more or less like this...

Hairbear
What type of bar set-up is that? Are you still using the top factory upper clamp? I like it the way you have it looking now....but looking at your website....you like to change stuff often. Tom

NudeXX
The upper clamp is from ABM witch is a German part manufacturer. Handlebar? is a normal motocrossbar.
bartonmd
I kindof dig what you've done, but one question: You're in Europe right? Don't they have the X11 over there for the "naked XX" thing? Mike
NudeXX
Do you think that an X11 is the bike I'm aiming at? NOPE... I'm fabricating a bike that I like it to be and XX is the platform I dig.... Don't be sad there is plenty left and the factory is making new ones as fast they can... If you want to save them all, You have to buy them all. To the project... just made a new rear chassis this weekend... And at the moment the bike looks like this: I tought that it woud be refreshing for you guys to see that there is potential to something else too in Your loved ones, than just adding luggage carriers and map-pockets... But I was SO wrong ;(
rickrad
Sorry it doesn't do much for me, everytime I see a naked sportbike all I can think about is a squid that crashed and can't afford the new plastic. I am just mentally blocked when it comes to this stuff I guess. I do marvel at the skill it takes to build a new tailsection. That shit isn't easy. TOXXIC
WOW! That is awesome. I really like the new tail section. I like things to be unique. I'm thinking of buying a wrecked VTR996 that needs a new sub-frame. Wonder what you could do to that! Keep posting pics, there are some of us that marvel at such creativity. titoportugal
NudeXX, congratulations for your project. The result was very nice. I'm also considering a brand new "designed by me" tail.
bartonmd
Do you think that an X11 is the bike I'm aiming at? NOPE... I don't know much about it, but I just thought it would be an easier place to start since it already has handlebars and stand-alone guages and stuff. Skull
I love it. You clearly have the same disease I have: can't-leave-well-enough-alone-ness. Here's the Goldwing 1800 single-sided swingarm I shoehorned into my Valkyrie:
TOXXIC
Sweet swing-arm. Single sided looks so clean.
NudeXX
When I was a little boy and started to fix my first car... My Father said to Me that there has been hundred engineers planning this car and that he isn't wiser to modify their work... I told Him to step a side and let Me handle it...
bartonmd
Skull: Is it the whole 1800 engine and everything, or just the swingarm from the GL1800 on the 1500 valkyrie? Mike
Skull
Skull: Is it the whole 1800 engine and everything, or just the swingarm from the GL1800 on the 1500 valkyrie? It's just the swingarm on the 1500 Valkyrie. My next project, after the XX, of course, is to buy a wrecked GL1800 and _make_ an 1800 Valkyrie. Of course, by then, maybe Honda will pull its head out of its collective ass and make a bike for the masses instead of the Rune. :bigpuke:
XXTi
I'm with you. I think an 1800 Valkyrie with the Goldwing frame and swingarm would sell like hotcakes. I can't imagine what Honda was thinking when they produced the Rune.
NudeXX
Ok... It was like this for one season... Then I took it apart again... The result looks like this.. 300/40-17 reartyre is just what it needed.
