  1. I have decided to put my 2003 Silver Blackbird up for sale. I call it a Silver Black Bird because I purchased the bike 7 or 8 months ago and it was wrecked. I got all of the plastics with it, but they were not salvageable, so I started collecting panels. I got a rear section and a front fender cheap and they were both silver, so instead of dealing with painting, I decided to stay with the 2002 color of silver. I ordered brand new OEM front upper and both sides in 2002 silver as well. I also found a silver tank with just a small ding and now I have a 2003 "Silver Bird"! The bike has just under 10k miles and runs perfectly. While I was redoing the cosmetics, I replaced the oil, coolant, brake fluid, clutch fluid, new NGK plugs and rear pads. I also added Heli bars, Jaws dimpled frame sliders, a Corbin GF & L, a Clear Alternatives integrated tail and clear front turn signals, a K&N drop in replacement filter, carbon reservoir covers and upper triple cover, foam grip covers, black levers, Jardine RT-1 slip ons, Throttlemeister cruise, foot peg lowering brackets(off this site) double bubble tinted windshield, front and rear race compound Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa Pro tires and I'm sure I missed a few other things here and there. There are a few other minor cosmetic imperfections, but nothing out of the ordinary for a 5 year old bike. The bike has been garaged since I have owned it, but I am fairly sure it was kept out doors for the previous years of its life.

I have only ridden this bike for less than 1k miles and it is more bike than I will ever need. I figure it will be better off in someone else's hands that will really ride it. Also, my wife refuses to ride it because "her legs are too cramped" and "the seat constantly makes her slide forward" so I always have to take her on my Mean Streak! I have a clean FL title in hand. Serious inquiries only and no joy rides! Anyone is welcome to come and inspect! Please PM me if you are interested or would like more pics. $5000 firm-

  2. I thought exactly the same thing. I wonder if a shield would stand up to that kind of a blow? It looks like MR Cycle has the best price. Does it come ready to install? If I'm going to end up pulling the fairing it may be time to do the HID and mirror extenders too. If anyone has one of these they want to sell, even if I had to get it painted post up.

It comes painted and exactly as your old one was, except brand spankin' new!

  3. It seems like there are a lot of people interested in passenger foot peg lowering brackets so to keep the other thread dedicated to the front I am starting a new thread.

It will take me some time and probably a few different styles of bracket as I'm sure everyone still wants them to fold up when not in use, before I get one that I like.

Post up here if interested in some and if you have any ideas you'd like to share, feel free!

    People interested so far:

    Keith

    cbrxxquad

    Para045

    TFT

I'll definitely take a set. The only feature I would like to keep is the one you already mentioned- being able to still be able to fold the pegs up.

  4. How about fabbing a set for the passenger. I have the fronts, It would be nice, To give the pillion, A little more room also. :icon_whistle

The rears are totally different but I may try something in the future.

If you do, you'll have another customer in me. I'd really, really, like to find a way to

get my wife some more leg room, other than replacing the 'bird with something more

suited to two up comfortable touring, that is...

I would also, maybe two sets also, also.

I would absolutely purchase a set for the passenger pegs! My wife complains of comfort issues after about 45 minutes of riding. She can go about an hour and a half on my Mean Streak, so we never get to take the CBR on any significant trips! :icon_think:

  5. Does anyone know if the 97 xx oilpan will work on my 2003 model? My pan had the tabs broken off that screw to the lowers when it was wrecked. Brent has a 97 up for grabs, but I don't want to buy it and go through all of the work to change it unless someone knows for sure it will work! 1997 oil pan is Honda PN#11210-MAT-000 and the 2003 oil pan is PN#11210-MAT-E20

    Thanks in advance!

  6. I am selling the tank that came on my bike when I bought it. The bike was wrecked and the plastics were completely trashed so I changed over to 02' silver when I redid all of my plastics and I just put on an 02 silver tank. Now I have this one is up for grabs. It has some dings and a scratch on the right side (see pics) and it has some light scuffs. It comes with the gas cap(no key) and the fuel sensor. I just removed it and the inside is in perfect condition with no rust. It does not include the fuel pump. This would make a nice tank to do custom paint on without any down time from your bike!I am looking to get $120 shipped/offer for it.
