That is a Chevy starter motor bolt, if you go another 10 miles down the road you will most likely find a starter.

My bike did the same thing, turned out to be a sticky needle and seat. The motor was running to rich on number 3 cyl and missing etc till you got about 3000 rpm then it would clear up.
I would say that is your problem.

HELP!!
in The Garage
Well I just got back from the Honda dealer with my new regulater and to my surprise Honda have improved the unit,It now has cooling fins and a alloy spacer that goes between the regulater and the frame to act as a heat sink.
Though the package say's "Honda genuine parts made in Thailand"
I'm also told that the CCT's have been improved.

Read your posts this morning and was thinking, well my bird is on 35000klms the retifier is due to go soon.
Go for ride and what happens, gauges stop working then a minute later the bike cuts out.
Hit the starter and nothing, the headlights are very dim etc, there some bike shops about a mile away so I start pushing get to the Honda dealer he checks the battery and it's got 2 volts say's it's the retifier$$$
Sold the last one one Thursday he tells me so flogs me a new battery AU$115  starts the bike and every thing work but theres no charge going to the battery.
Anyway it got me home and as normal I have bend over and take up the backside and pay AU$400 for retifier.

Insurance? or no cover at the track.

Here is a website for a sprocket company here in OZ they say they can make them in any number of teeth and are in steel.
They are cheap at AU$120 about US$70 but they are laser cut, I would prefer a gear cut sprocket to get perfect tooth form.
Sorry don't know how to make a link but here is the site , chaingang.com.au

So did you just drill the hole through the first baffle or did you try to drill right through? Also what year is your bird?
I like the look of the stock cans but would love a bit more noise.
