  1. What I know. I was able to modify the stem location of a sp1 top to fit the zx14 lower. So the width of the forks is the same and diameter. The hole was too small but the back wall of the hole was in the correct location. Had enough meat. After I did bore the hole in the location, it dawned on me the hole was about the same as the xx, so it would move the forks forward from what the zx is. Need to check the bearing numbers on Ron Ares..
  2. Have I mentioned,,,,that I think an 2000 / 2001 Sp1 RCV 51 tree may be an exact replacement for the xx frame to zx14 fork using the same stock bearings and key? And all in all, may be cheaper new? Maybe I did,,
  3. NO won't work, you can not tighten the top nut on to anything that will turn like you can with the inner race of a ball bearing. Sorry I have been tied up and when I saw this it was on my phone and unable to post. If what I said is not clear ask an I will try harder.
  4. Man I sure hope the Aprilla test ride goes well tomorrow. Been looking for planes to fly and ride, but, conflicted.
  5. So much errant information, it makes me wonder. Just put them in and forget about it. Eight years without a problem. Would not ride like I do without, not even a question. Daytime highbeams save lives,,,mine!!! Hope they think is is a UFO, or landing plane, or tanker truck. Cause it's all they can see, that and the spots after I'm gone.
  6. Well, teething problems are to be expected, what ever is marginal before, will rear it's ugly head in the worst way with any power adder. But, it is what it's always about, working them out and becoming better mechanic. The memory will fade but the experiences will make you more than you were.
  7. Sucks big time..... Let me give it a try
  8. Now I know why Eric want the stamps now,,,shit, I will see if I can do it this week Vern.
  9. ON A 6" RIM I would guess, Chad, So do I. But, on a 5.5, bad idea.
  10. If you get any closer, It might bite....
  11. I used the zx14 and it was fine, Evlxx used it too. Have not looked at the size but it will be on the master somewhere.
  12. Can't imagine what would be holding it in place,,,tap it?
  13. good answers Mike, I have been so busy lately I can't get on anymore. I thought that that last guy had found some bearings for the top that were a lot cheaper? posted links too. I might get time to make that adapter but, don't look to good from here. Best look up the link and see if he was right, for now. Sorry, but you will do fine with all the links and others. Spend your time looking for parts and prices, be patient.
  14. I opened the box on the one I have and looks pretty good. It's not factory, but if you put the body parts on next to factory, you can see the difference. But, only a owner of one would know if it was all on a bike, that it was not original. Or care for that matter. I will shoot some pictures this afternoon. If someone wants me to I can mount it, so when you get it it will not need anything to fit.
  15. I have done it in 4 hours, start to running. but, I swapped the trans out too.
  16. You are welcome. Glad it will work for you. To answer your question, the LFE cable provides more shielding to prevent interference, but you can use a single RCA. Thanks, will order another later.
  17. Received in great condition, and operation. Now, download manual, read, digest. Waiting on optical cables to arrive, but already much improvement over the two channel Marantz SCR 2000 bought new in "76". Had some great speakers Linear Dynamics, for the fronts, and bought some Klipsch bookcase for the rears, and a 350 subwoofer. Small room, big sound. Clarity is my thing and this works. Thanks Rich. Anybody know if the subwoofer LFE cable is anything different than a normal rca?
  18. 3" is too big.... Don't think so.
  19. Whats your reasoning Stan? Something Forest showed me on his that I thought was a good idea. That and the volume of the dual tubes is better served with a equal volume connector pipe to match the velocity and reduce pressure differential between the pipes. Cross section area of the two outlets should equal the cross section of the connector. Is the turbo outlet reduced to the size of the connecting pipe or are they the same size at the flange?
  20. You know, I was really wanting a larger pipe out of the turbo back to the "U" for the duals. Could flatten it to the od of the "U" making a oval hole. Maybe like 3" Overall diameter tube out of the Turb. Would that be a posible?
  21. I think I saw a water spot. Yeah, right. You fly Dave out to detail it?
  22. Easily the most beautiful xx ever. And the most modified on the planet. I am thinking that a picture with Chads should be the cover for all the calendars. Howie, send me an idea what you want for it. PM.
  23. something like this is what I want to do
