I just got a reply from Dan Moto; these cans do NOT have the bracket for the center stand
stop, so they are unacceptable to me, nice sound or not.
-
Does anyone know about these exhaust cans:
I'd like to get an idea of sound level, quality, longevity. Also, I'd like to know if the left connecting
pipe has a center stand stop; I can't see in the pictures if it does or not. I've sent a question to the
seller so should have a answer to that later, but if someone knows, please pass it on.
Thanks.

Will this fit in my Blackberry?
Probably not. They are DIMMs; I expect your Blackberry takes SODIMs or smaller.

Price reduced -- $300 shipped to CONUS.
PM sent.

I have two 256 MB DDR memory sticks that I took out of my wife's PC during a memory
upgrade. I'm not sure of the speed, but this is the part number; you should be able to get
all the information with it:
MT8VDDT3264AG-40BG5
PC3200U-30331-Z
I doubt that these would be useful to anyone, but if someone can use them, they are yours
for the cost of shipping. JLMK.

The burnt connector indicates the R/R was sucking too much current, for whatever reason (burned out R/R,
battery taking too much current, etc.). If you pull that connector apart (if you still can) and get at the three
yellow wires coming from the stator, start the bike and see what voltage you have between any two pairs of
yellow wires. Should be around 50V AC at 5000 RPM. If you don't have that, then I suspect the stator and
the R/R are toast.

Hey plazma you know your bike is for sale.
So, give us a link to the add so we can go mess with him!

I always thought FI birds has 6.34 gallon capacity.
I don't know. The owner's manual for my '03 says 6.08 gallons; maybe it indicates
lower than actual so there some reserve reserve.
-
So, even if the low fuel display starts blinking/flashing, there's still another 1.6 gallons in the tank. That is basically the reserve that gives the rider between 45 and 60 more miles, depending on the mpg.
The manual calls for 6.08 gallons for a full tank! Thanks for all the replies.
6.08 gallons for an FI bike; I think the carb bikes have a bit more capacity. According
to the owner's manual, the low fuel indicator starts blinking with 3 liters left, which for
my bike, which usually manages just a bit under 40 MPG, that should be only about 30
miles. If that were the case, I would have run out, so I think mine starts blinking a bit
earlier than that.
-
According to the owner's manual, fuel quantity for the FI bird is 6.08 gallons. I was once in
the Sierra with my wife as pillion, a long way from gas with the low fuel indicator blinking.
I was really worried I'd run out of fuel before I could reach a service station. I was doing
things like turning off the engine and coasting when going down hill, real easy on the throttle,
etc. I reached Bear Valley without running out and the tank took 5.6 gallons. So, you can
run it down at least that far without running out.

Did you check Craig's List? Here's one in the Riverside/San Bernadino area:
It doesn't say how many miles. There are probably others; I found that one with about two minutes search.
-
How many miles need to be on the odometer?
For CA, it has to have 7500+ miles if it's not a CA emission spec vehicle.
-
There is no mechanical cable to put a drill motor on, so that's not going to
work; the speedometer/odometer is electronic and the pick up is in the
transmission. You would have to find a way to change the number in the ECU
as far as I know, or put it on the center stand, leave it running in gear, until
you reach the mileage you want.

Hmmmmm.. Ooops thread....Be careful now, or Redbird will tear you a new ahole...
???
Too much dust and dry climate in southern CAWell, I live in northern CA, which is not quite as dry or dusty as SoCal.
Most of that will blow right off with an air compressor.I gave that a try, but not much came off. I had a new OEM filter on hand, anyway, so put that in.

How many miles? Looks like a lot of surface dirt.I have 3 years and 22,000 on my original plugs with no problems.
I think that one was in there for about 20,000 miles - way too many, based on how it looks.

Is there a way to look for something on craigslist, and search all over the country easily for it,
You can use Google to search only within one domain, such as craigslist.org, using the
advanced search utility. I use it all the time to look for something specific all over the
country.

FYI: White Buffalo Racing carries the DID chain in the correct length, so no cutting required.
White Buffalo's web site appears to be down. Has been for a little while. Not sure what's up.
Thanks for the info, Hobi. I haven't checked there in a long time.

At my local auto part store, there are a couple of different Shell Rotella varieties. How
can one tell which is OK for M/C use? I'd like to make the switch, but don't want to put
in something harmful or that will mess up the clutch.
-
I made the same dumb-ass mistake with the clutch push rod (left it out after a sprocket
change and started the bike, oil spewing all over), however, I did not have any trouble
putting the rod back in and remounting the clutch slave cylinder/sprocket cover. I can't
think of anything that would move inside the tranny that would prevent the rod from
going back in all the way through to the clutch basket...

I just got around to watching that video; those are outrageously loud and raspy, IMHO. My shot Yoshi RS3s that
need a repack are quieter than those. Yet another reason to rethink this purchase... Thanks for posting the link.
I think I'll purchase the repack kit from Yoshi and save the $450 I'd spend on the Dan Moto cans.
