  1. So why did you have to do this with your clutch?

I was getting some clunking sounds down low and decided it would be fun to inspect the chain and sprockets while the wheel was spinning.

I removed front sprocket guard (All 5 bolts) and started up the bike. As I squeezed the clutch lever to drop it into first, an amazing thing happened. The caliper assembly for the Hydraulic clutch pops out of the housing because I had removed the bolts. Fluid everywhere....lost pressure in the system and had to replenish and remove the air that I introduced.

You should take comfort in the fact that I patched it up with some bailing wire I got from the guy at WalMart.

  2. I've got a mity vac, one of those accumulators and another accumulator that reverses as a pusher (use it for gear oil on the truck).  I've never had any luck with suction devices, but the pressure bleeders work awesome.

Just had to do this with my clutch. (don't ask why.)

Normal bleeding was getting me no where. Went and got the Mity Vac (thanks Redbird) and finish the job lickety split. Worked beautifully!!!!!

BTW: If anyone has this device, all I gotta say is:

(in your best Austin Powers Brit voice) "I swear its not mine baaaaby. I've got no idea how it got in there."

  3. Just ordered my leathers. I have bought stuff from New Enough in the past and have always been pleased with the delivery; however, talking to them on the phone was one of the nicest experiences I have ever had. I never felt rushed. They actually TALKED to me instead of treating me like another sale.

Their return policy is the cats meow. If it don't fit, call em up and they will send stuff out the same day....before they get the original order back.

Top notch!!!! They also had all my info on file from my previous order, so placing this order took me all of 5 to 10 minutes and most of that was talking about the product and sizing info.

They may be a discount house, but you sure do get premium service.

Oh yea....my size and color choice was in stock and will ship tomorrow. I should have in three business days.

    Bravo.

  4. Maybe he'll have some things chromed on his bike for NEXXT.

I'll have to give it a good once over.

Nothing! Trust me, I wish it were different, but you will see nothing special about my bike at NEXXT.

Here is the deal: As much as I wanted to have this going already, I don't. The only excuse (and truth) is buying the equipment with dad during a time when there was nothing going on in my life except kids (every other weekend). I posted this thread and immediately got slammed with extra work at work, travel at work, home projects that could not be neglected, still have kids every other weekend, etc. I have tried to plan 5 different Saturdays to go work with Dad on this and everytime we have had something come up.

Please rest assured that I have not forgotten and you all will the absolute first to know as soon as I have a piece completed. I know I have teased you with this for a long time and for that I apologize. Shit happens. My biggest liability right now is TIME and as soon as I can free some up, you will see some product.

    Don,

We need to chat at NEXXT about a prisoner exchange program and how we will handle it so I can practice. Polish for Chrome, etc. We finally have bench grinders and all the wheels and polish necessary to do our own.

  5. I'm lost...what is all this "BUMPING"???

They want to keep this thread on top so I won't forget that I need to start letting others benefit from the $2000 in chroming equipment that I have.

BTW: Dad bought a sand blasting set-up. I need to remove the rearsets and work on those. I am planning to produce my first pieces this weekend. Really!!

  6. Send it to me and i'll let you know.

I'm only looking out for the safety of you.

You are an AVON whore!!!! The bitch tried the same crap with my AVON. Same deal as your's Eric...gotta screw in a perfectly good tire.:grin::grin::grin: We are going to strip search Don at NEXXT and make sure he isn't throwing nails in front of the AVON equiped bikes.

  7. I'll have some pieces for you to test on.

You should practice up on your plastic chroming also, i have some ideas and 4 pieces.

    NOW GET TO WORK BEOTCH!!!!!!

Plastic chroming will take awhile. I will focus on the metal stuff first. I predict plastic won't happen for a year or so...seriously.

  8. no need to do anything to remove the old CCT but take the bolts out.

Do what Joe said and LISTEN TO XX!

don't pull the little key thingy out until AFTER you've installed it

It really is that simple. I did mine in about 10 mins, but I left the fairing on....just loosened the back a little.

  9. What's UP???? I'll tell ya...

I am a fucking travelling, working, being-a-dad, riding, going on family reunions, excuse making mutha fugger.

Actually, all that and more. I haven't forgotten, just have not been able to find time to dos stuff. In two months, I have had the Deal's trip, New Mexico Trip, Atlanta Trip, and FUXXT this weekend. Top that off with having kids every other weekend (I tend to spend time with them and not work) and I haven't done a fucking thing with $2000 worth of Chrome equipment.

I just sold my jet ski, so I should be able make more room and start some stuff in the garage.

Don...I'll give you a shout soon and set up an exchange program if you want to help me test. You polish, I'll chrome. It still won't be fast, but it will help speed stuff up a bit.

Thanks for everyone's patience....I should know better than to "foreplay" a service before it is up and running.

  10. Am I the only one who thought of a blowjob from a crack whore with Parkinson's when reading that subject line?  Oh, I am.  Nevermind.

No, but I TRY and reserve smart ass remarks for the Pub.

My first thought (which I think xrated said) was balancing since you previously had a balancing problem. Check and see if the rotors are still straight and not pulsing (warped) as well.

  11. yeah yeah....I am here. We have our trip this week through the weekend and then we will be able to start doing some more stuff after that.

Thanks for keeping the post near the top. You will all be the first to know when we are ready. Based on what I have seen so far, you will want Don to polish and me to chrome.

  12. It doesn't matter whether your plugs are coated with iridium, platinum, diamond plate, or ArmorAll........when they get shit on them....carbon, deposits of the products of combustion....they won't work well.

QOTW!!!!!...and it is bike related for a change.

I bought my Platinums and will change them with my brake pads, but I totally forgot about my air filter....shit! I guess I need to make a call.

  13. The alternate fantasy is the same dry lake bed at night with no moon. You'd be out-riding your headlight by easily three times anyway. Hit the starter switch to kill the headlight, guidance by the stars only.

Then when I get back there's a keg of Guinness waiting for me and a blowjob from Elizabeth Hurley.

I have a very similar dream except: I have a plate full of Skyline Chili Dogs (a Cincinnati thing) waiting with a semi-naked but 'ready' Selma Hayek. Also, in the corner is three midgets cock-slapping my ex-wife in the face and their dicks are tattooed with an exact replica of my monthly check that she receives. If I stare at the midgets while getting ready to do Selma, I will pre-mature ejaculate. ...And that is hard to explain to my girlfriend when I wake up.

    Look away....loooook awaaaayyy!

  14. So I loctited it in, took her for a spin around the block it seems Ok.

The bike or the girl at the store?

I posted the same brake pad question in the pub to get as much response as possible...quickly.

  15. Bump.

    I'm not letting this die.

    Speed99 any update??????????

Good...don't let it die, stay on my ass about this like Dave in a Turkish Bath House.

I haev done very little to practice on this. Dad had surgery on his feet and I have been working on the house and making trips to GP parties on Florida's Space coast!

i.e.: I have not done shit. I need to spend a day or two with Dad practicing on polished parts to see the results. This means that I need to polish some freeking parts so when I am done I have some bling on my bird.

I promise to keep everyone updated...especially Don!:grin::grin:

    -Rick

  16. I will be practicing on my rearsets and/or passenger peg brackets real soon (week or so.) Everything is up at dad's and I am still juggling about 10 other home/personal projects. Be patient! It will come!:grin::grin:
