  1. I just saw this today. I do not know the seller or have any info. on the bike other than what is in the ad.

It is close to me if anyone is seriously interested, I can swing by sometime and verify the bike for you.

    C.L. link

can't say I'm a fan of the red covers on the clutch and brake reservoirs

has chrome wheels and looks like red wave rotors of some sort

  2. Just for clarification, if the chronology of the thread is confusing. It was not sold to me. :icon_biggrin:

Sorry bout that Toxxic, the guy with dibs on the Stebel paypal'ed for it after I had given up on his purchase - think they call that a lag-pay

front fender still available... anyone want/need it? (just shipping cost to get it out of my garage and into yours, maybe throw in a six pack of Heineken funds : )

  3. found a few parts today when I was cleaning the garage

    - Candy Glory Red front fender - few scratches on front of it

    - Stebel nautilus air horn - wiring prepped for XX by prior owner, never got around to mounting on my bird (tested it on a battery and its very loud)

Make an offer that includes your shipping cost from 85044

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No offers yet in case anyone is interested, both items are still sitting on my garage workbench.

  4. You just bought it.

Why are you selling your new 01 XX?

Good question, surprised no-one has asked it

Likely the same reasons other guys wake up one day and decide to sell a bike:

    - (priorities) I'd rather have the cash in the bank to put into the "down payment on a house" fund

    - I do have another 01' redbird and she's my "go riding" bike, 40K miles and runs perfect and strong

    - I figure if someone else in the XX community wants this bike, here's a chance at it (second chance for some that saw it on Ebay)

  5. Just don't ride it 6 more miles before you sell it, or its ruined.

LOL ! Yea I know, I can't even sneak in a few rides around the block :(

Anyways Randy, its all your fault that I own this bike in the first place

since you posted the link to the Ebay ad earlier this year

not that its a bad thing, because its an awesome bike

I intend for it to stay in the hands of the XX community

my garage or yours, she'll surely have a good caretaker

    Background & history:

Prior owner was a Dallas Cowboys player, bought the bike from him in Dallas, Texas earlier this summer

When I purchased the bike, 272 miles were on it. It is the "survivor" that was on Ebay

Prior owner apparently witnessed a fatal bike accident and he never rode the XX again, parked it in the garage for 8 years

After I had the important maintenance done to this 8 year old bike, I took her up to Sedona and back through the twisties on 89A

Never exceeded 8000 RPM, and saw the high-side of 100+ MPH only once to break her cherry at exactly 500 miles *grin*

For now, she's content in my garage waiting for her next owner

an UN-OPENED SR-71 blackbird toy for your desk, priceless ;)

Not selling any parts/farkles from this bike separately at this time

I prefer to sell this bike to a current/prior XX owner that can appreciate it for what it is,

and knows how to take damn good care of a special XX

Thanks for taking the time to read the longest "for sale" ad in the history of the site : )

    Chase
