  1. Well I got it all together now.

    I would like to thank

a455goat off ebay for the header

My local buddy Davey Sprocket for the yoshi TRS muffler

TexasDawg from right here for the mid-pipe

and myself for putting it all together

even the 1.69$ simpson Lsta21 strap and napa cork gasket I made the exhaust hanger out off

will swap it out later when I can find a real hanger.

This bike sounds absolutly awsume now, accelerates smoother (due to a loss of bottom end I belive)

and screams harder than ever over 7000. :icon_twisted::icon_twisted::icon_twisted:

    Thanks again, JDXX

  2. I havent tried the Michilin's yet but have about 1000 miles on my second set of Meztler sport tec M-3's

These things stick good I lean this thing all the way over and the only time the m3's let go is when I left them to take a ride on the fairings (not the tires fault) :icon_redface: . Also Ive broke both ends loose in various conditions and the m3's have allways hooked back up. Milage is'nt very good maybe 2500 but thats not what I buy em for. Next time I think I'll try the pilot powers though.

  3. I am going to put my stockers back on this weekend.

I put the vfr bars on last summer soon after getting my bike. 7000 miles later I realize that I really cant stand the angle of the vfr bars, it hurts my wrist to hold on to the grips and I often hold my hands slightly sidways across the grips staightening out my wrist.

Also I believe the bike was easier to turn with the stock bars. Now that I am used to the bike I find I try to tuck in a bit more and I think I will be comfortabe with the stock clip on's.

I guess I'll find out soon. Otherwise I will have to get some adjustable bars or put some clamps on the tree so I can try some different bends.

  4. Thanks for the replies.

Yeah TOXXIC I did get it from there. Was I bidding against you?

I didnt know that the muffler/mid pipe were one piece. I have access to a yoshi tri oval I plan to use.

The outlet of the header is 2.25" outside diameter.

I thought about having one made at a muffler shop, sounds like the way to go. Now I just gotta find some SS tubing.

    ThanXXs again, JDXX

  5. Well I just lowsided my bird. :icon_doh: everything seemed ok then bam. :icon_eek: Never even felt the tires slide. Was like It just went over untill it was on the fairing. But It went fast so I dunno. :icon_think: Anyway the lower right fairing is trashed. The only rideability problem is the right side rearset broke off. I rode it home and now here I am. Anyone got a rrearset? maybe a faring?Any help would be great :icon_dance: .Thanx, Jerry

  6. I want to say thanks for all the replies. :icon_biggrin: this is my first street bike in about ten years, besides a xr650L, Ive had several streetbikes before though. Most of my riding has been on the dirt Ive had a bunch of dirt bikes and atv's, currently a 2002 kx250. I like to beat, I beat everyting. :icon_twisted: Even the bird. Ive put two g miles on this bike and agree it dosent need a damper in high speed handling. But Around town, in the dirt and over Comptche Ukiah road (one twisty bumpy ass fun ride) I would like resitance to the steering falling and kicking. I will take pictures of the road to post soon as I get back out there. These damn linked brakes gotta go too. :icon_confused:

  7. I too have these same sort of sounds. I notice it only when the enginge is hot in traffic and mostly as it settles to idle. Has anyone figured this out yet? My bird is 2002 with 3800 miles I got it at 2400 and noticed it witin a couple of days.

  8. Bike is bone stock. no head shake. Just would like a little resistance for those bumpy corners. Oh and wheelies. I know some people here have them. I will costom fab a universal damper if I have to. some pics from someone who has done it or has a kit would be great. Thank you.

  9. :icon_biggrin: Hello everyone. I just got my Blackbird a few weeks ago. 2002 with 2476 miles on it. So far Ive put 1400 miles on it and cant/nor want to stop. This bike is awsume!!!!!!! Im on the coast in northen california and the roads here are tight twisted and some of them quite rough. The bike rides great, I will probably change the springs this winter to see if I can mak it even better. Anyway sorry so long, I just love talking about this bike though,on some of the bigger bumps, middle of the corners rough stuff left me wishing I had a sterring damper. Ive looked and even emaild hyperpro but cannot find one for my machine...

    Heeelllppp... please...
