  1. We did a group buy many years ago for the Carrozzeria wheels which is why you see so many here from members of this forum, myself included.

Don't quote me on this but I think we got wheels designed for the ZX12. Everything matched up perfectly as far as brake caliper, axle etc except the bolt pattern for the sprocket. We had to buy a new sprocket (for the ZX12) with the rear wheel. I love my Carrozzeria gold wheels and they have held up beautiful for over 10 years. I did replace the cush drive rubbers a couple years ago.
Others that have more knowledge than I should speak up soon as there may be some other spec that is needed to get the correct wheels for a direct swap-out.

That's lithium ion, the one I have from BatteryTender is lithium iron something....Lifepo4 I think is the abbreviation.

Correct -  Lithium ion are similar to what was used in laptops etc and had a tendency to catch fire.
Different animal with Lithium Iron Phosphate.
I may be wrong but think that all motorcycle batteries are Now Lithium Iron Phosphate and the Ion is no longer available for use in Bike.

  3. I have bought from and would recommend "Battery Stuff"

They carry Shorai, Scorpion and other brands.

I think Scorpion is their own house brand and is usually slightly cheaper than the known

name brands like Shorai, hence my cheapness decided on the Scorpion and have not been disappointed with the choice.
    https://www.batterystuff.com/

They carry a full line of Lithium Battery products as well as chargers.

I personally have 2 of the Scorpion brand Lithium batteries. 1 has been in my BlackBird for 5 years so far.

I like the Cranking Amps of the Lithium batteries and the almost zero voltage loss over time while bike is in winter storage. Or in the case of my Bird that sits for long periods of time with little or no use.
When I bought my first one, from Battery Stuff, it was delivered in a Priority Mail flat rate box and left on my front porch while I was at work. When I got home I was excited to see the new battery had arrived but when I went to pick up the box, I was mad because I realized that they sent me a box with no battery inside. Couldn't believe that it was a real battery inside when I opened the box. Thought it had to be a hollow plastic fake display of a battery due to its lack of weight. Seemed to weight about the same as 1 "D"-cell flashlight battery!
Love the high rating for CCA's. Has a push button on top to tell you if it is fully charged just like a Duracell battery!

  4. I hard boil a dozen at a time. Eat at least 2 a day so never left for more than 6 days in the frig.
I hard boil and then shell them, while they are still slightly warm so the shell comes off easily.
If you refrigerate them with the shell on, it is tough getting the shell off without removing

much of the egg white, along with the shell.
Our local grocery store (Publix) sells hard boiled eggs that are already shelled, They are sealed

in a plastic bag and have a 3 week store shelf life, so I figure 1 week freshly hard boiled is good for me.

    Bump this up again!

I have been reluctant to post anything here as it generally fall away from my plan early on. I had never actually be in any kind of workout or exercise routine in my life. I was 135 lbs (skinny) from the time I was a teenager up until about age 45. At 45 I had a roommate that was a little over weight and I wanted to try again to gain some good weight so we found a deal at bally's Fitness here locally. We both got up early (5;30am) three days a week and spent 1.5 hours working out. we did this for just over a year and he lost about 25 lbs and I gained 25lbs. My highest weight was 161 lbs. I was very happy with the results and felt really good with myself. Still slightly thin for 5"11" tall but not skinny like I had always been. My roommate got married and moved out of town and i stopped going to the gym since I had noone to motivate me. I fell back to 150-155 lbs and settled there for over 10 years. Last year for some unknown reason (old age) I suddenly started putting on weight. before I realized it I was up to 176lbs and hated looking at the gut that I developed. Still thin but now thin with a gut! After getting my annual physical this year in late March, I spoke with a nutritionist and my Primary doc and decided i better do something while I am still able to physically. My family has major joint issues so I know sooner or later that will become an issue for me as well. I joined the gym for the City of Sunrise where I live and started working out 3 days a week. That lasted about a month with no results so I made some strict diet changes and now hitting the gym most every day. I have been going for an hour every morning now for 3 weeks and have brought my weight down to 172lbs. I will be dropping back to 5 days a week as I now have a routine worked out that I like. I spend 60 minutes doing aerobic machines. 20 minutes - recumbent bicycle, 20 minutes - elliptical and then another 20 minutes bike. I have worked my way up to level 10 on the bikes and level 7 on the elliptical. After the aerobic workout I hit the machines and target a muscle group each day for 15 minutes. No free weights there but lots of machines. Not the ideal set-up but it is working out good for me so far. I have increased the amount of weight on the machines now by twice what I started out using. My gut has begun to diminish slightly and my body weight has stabilized. My goal is to get back to 175lbs but without the gut. It gets harder and harder to shrink the waistline as I get older and older. I will be 61 this year and am determined to look and feel the best that I ever have. I refuse to give up this time and will accomplish my goal in 2016.

Wow, forgot about this post back in 2016!
Sold my house last year and moved 125 miles north to Vero Beach, FL. Bought a home here and wondered what I could do for physical exercise since I live west of City by about 15 miles. Discovered the county built a beautiful (HUGE) aquatic center about 3/4 of a mile from my house. Annual membership is $120 ! Heated pool all year round and really nice shower/locker room. Joined last October and signed up for the Mile Swim Club. You log your number of laps swam each visit and they keep track of your total distance annually. Every January they have a free luncheon/banquet and everyone gets a certificate showing how many miles you swam for the year. If you exceed 100 miles you get a T-shirt. The last three months of 2017 I swam 54 miles. I had a slow start in January and only swam 15 miles but improved in February (short month) and swam 30 miles. I should have an additional 25 miles this month (March) and have a goal of swimming a minimum of 20 miles a month. This month has been tough because of being away for RacerXX and two weekends the pool was closed due to a big swim meet reserving the facility.  This past Sunday I had the time and got into a groove and swam 2 miles. A first for me but killed me the following day forcing out another mile. I have to build up slower for that to happen again!
I really enjoy the workout and is really good for my arthritic joints at the same time. MY Doc tells me to keep it up. My first time doing any serious swimming since I got out of the Navy in 1978 . My form is terrible and I wish I had an oxygen tank on the side of the pool sometimes! Smoking for 37 years has left its mark but quitting 10 years ago is enabling me to work my way back to decent respiratory health.

I am maintaining my weight at 170 lbs but trimming up to my liking. I dream about having some ABs showing but at 62 years old that will probably not happen. Still healthy, fun and enjoyable.

  6. Mack,

Paypal sent but you show a "space" between the @ and the UN.org which I deleted.

Verify that you received my payment and delete the space if received.

I would have sent the $20 via friends and family (No Fee) but unsure if it would go through.

You can also refund the payment and I will resend via Friends and Family if the email is correct.

Shipping address is with the payment

  7. I have the HEL kit on my 01 Bird that I brought back from England (JAWS) in , I think 2004 or 2005.

It replaced the rubber lines and left the hard lines. Still working perfect today with DOT 4 fluid.

My poor memory says that it was like 13 lines, including the clutch.

  8. No issues with either the new house or the new bike, thank you for asking.

As everyone knows that has had dealings with him, Scott gave me an incredible deal and the transaction went smooth as butter.

Got her out yesterday for a decent shakedown ride mainly to learn all the fancy electronics. Put almost 100 miles yesterday and another 65 today.

learning how to take the basic stuff apart this morning and installing 2 Yamaha helmet locks with a custom bracket I got from the FJR forum guys.

I figured out how to key the helmet locks to the ignition key and will now mount them in the morning.I will add a couple more farkles in the next week or two such as a touring windscreen and a passenger back rest so my girlfriend can ride with me. Maybe a pair of slip-on cans for a mild sound improvement.

Just got to get her broken in and the first service completed at 600 miles and then put some more miles on her.

Very comfy and smooth and will be enjoying her immensely. (the bike and the girlfriend).

The new house was not effected by the hurricane at all. I don't thing it even lost power there. Closing date set for Oct. 6th, can't wait to move in.

  9. With Irma bearing down on So. Florida my new FJR is in Orlando this morning. Expecting to be delivered to me here in Vero Beach in a couple hours. Going to take it for a ride and then put her up in a nice high and dry spot inside a concrete garage all covered up for the storm.

I will be heading "South" about 60 miles to my 90 year old mothers house to ride out the storm with her. She has a concrete block house with concrete tile roof and hurricane shutters on all the windows and doors. She is all stocked up with needed supplies and I am bringing my Honda generator with me for the inevitable power loss. My EU2000 should provide enough juice to run the refrigerator and computer so we can keep everything charged up.

I am all set to close on my new house in Vero in 3 weeks, so looking to see how well it fairs in a Cat 4/5 hurricane before actually buying! It is CBS construction with architectural roofing shingles. Hurricane shutters are up on the windows and doors and the house is elevated so no worries of flooding. It should be fine.

  10. Watching the GPS on the transport truck as it passes through Kansas City this morning, heading to Vero Beach, FL.

A huge shout out and thanks goes to Scott (racer212) for his amazingly generous offer that enabled me to buy the new FJR1300ES.

Like his deals on many guns that were made with forum members, I was on the receiving end of a deal better than even dave offers

up regularly on a new sport touring ride. Not only was the new bike a great deal but the extra 48 month (YES) extended warranty

came with it heavily discounted as well.

The anxiety on my part is watching it travel towards me while knowing that it will probably arrive before the keys and paperwork will

arrive via UPS 2nd day air service! Due to the holiday weekend (Labor Day) 2nd day air will get the key packet here on Wednesday

and the bike will be here on Tuesday, probably.

All this took place in the same week as an accepted offer by the bank for me to purchase a new home here in Vero Beach and attending

the opening season game for the Miami Hurricanes who were victorious. Actually e-signed the contract for the house while standing at

the Club Level bar at the Hard Rock Stadium with the score at 34 - 6, Go Canes!

I have much to be grateful for and blessed beyond understanding.
